Set off into this beautiful and ancient pine forest for a day of walking or biking. Enjoy the tranquility and abounding nature.

Appreciate the beauty and peacefulness of the ancient Pineta di Cervia (Pinewood of Cervia), a vast woodland which stretches along the coast of Milano Marittima. Relish the clean air as you walk, jog or cycle along the paths.

The woodland once reached from the Reno River all the way to Cervia. Visit today, however, to find a smaller reserve which covers 642 acres (260 hectares) and includes 74 acres (30 hectares) of Natural Park, where wildlife and domestic animals can be found.

There are four zones in the woodland: Stazzone, Capanna, Dune and Bassona. Discover some 32 different paths which weave through the vegetation and offer many outdoor activities. The paths range from easy to medium difficulty.

The woodland is mainly characterized by two species of Mediterranean trees, the maritime pine tree and the pine kernel-producing pine tree. In addition you will find oaks, poplars and robinias. Delight in the tranquil atmosphere and appreciate this ancient woodland, which has been preserved as a Natural Reserve since 1970.

The Cervia Natural Park is part of the great Pineta di Cervia and makes for a fun excursion from the town. Look for the donkeys, fallow deer, horses, goats and Romagna cows which live here, as well as ducks, swans, pheasants and peacocks. The park is open from March to November and is home to plenty of educational resources where you can learn more about the ecology of the woodland.

The Pineta di Cervia is parallel to the coast, tucked between the seafront town and the great salt pans. It has multiple access points and all are within easy reach of the town center. It is a short walk from the coast, beaches and hotels. Alternatively, if you are arriving by car, there are plenty of parking options as well. Visit the park any time between dawn and dusk. It is open daily.
