Welcome to Wollongong, our Potomac Oasis!

We are a NEWLY RENOVATED fishing retreat directly on the shores of Historic St. George’s Island, MD, on the Lower Potomac. Catch absolutely brilliant 180º sunsets from our patio or private dock, and cozy up by our firepit!

Though our cottage is small, it sure is cozy and totally functional for short or long-term rentals. We have a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 bedrooms, linens + towels, cooking essentials (salt & pep, oil, pots/pans, coffee, spices), crab pots, A/C to accommodate a quaint and peaceful getaway. Large dock to fish for Rockfish & crabbing. Half mile to boat ramp access to St Marys & Potomac Rivers, with the Chesapeake & Pt Lookout 8-10 miles south.

Great Location
great location - wonderful walks to St George island and nearby restaurant. It would have been so awesome if there were two kayaks available! It is a perfect spot to be alone and observe nature. Grateful for great hospitality.

Amazing place to stay!!!
Extremely clean cottage right on the water with absolutely breathtaking views. The owner responds very fast to any questions and was great to work with. The house is very well equipped with pretty much anything you need. The private dock with lights for night was really nice too. We would definitely stay here again! Also nice that it's pet friendly so you can bring your dogs.

Great place for sunsets over the water
Just finished a week at this property and had a fantastic time. The house is small, but perfectly adequate for two or three people. The kitchen is surprisingly well equipped and the patio and fire pit right on the water were worth the price of admission by themselves. I also really appreciate the flexibility for pets.

Beautiful view and cozy cabin
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It was so nice that the kitchen has updated appliances and was fully stocked. The rest of the cabin was also very clean and comfortable. We started our days sitting on the dock drinking our coffee and ending our days sitting on the dock watching the sunsets. We can’t wait to come back. Joanne

A fishing get away
It’s a fishing shack , and it was great just to relax. My husband and son loved just going out tge door to fish and crab. House is doable for a small family . I was a little disappointed with having the jellies in the water. ( no swimming )

The vacation was fantastic I think my grade is 10 out of 10, it's the third time I'm in that place and it's relaxing of course I'm going to recommend it to family and friends, maybe just one point this is not a complaint but there are two trees in bad condition and they are very close to the cabin and on the last day of my vacation I felt a little afraid because of the terrible wind that made I think it's the only thing that made me feel uncomfortable for my family too.

Loved the fish shack
We came to the area on a work trip to help our son get his boat ready for launch. The fish shack offered us a comfy place to relax and rest. It's in a great neighborhood. It's right on the water. The kitchen is well eqipped (we cooked 6 out of 7 nights). Everything works well. This place is not fancy but it's functional and comfy. You can't go wrong here. Jean

Fishing Cottage not a shack
From the moment we drove in the pots of flowers by the front door made me smile - this was an unexpected surprise, very clean, all updated and top of the line appliances, perfect for the two of us and our Labrador Retriever - beautiful sunsets, bald eagle and osprey flew into the tops of the pines right next to us, the wind nestled in the trees if you would just listen - the best dock in the area - if you want peace and quiet and love nature this is it for you - great restaurant within walking distance..very unexpected amenities...great couple of days for us...very close to Calvert Cliffs and a great hike on the Red Trail...five star host

Great view, lovely cozy house with all kitchen needs…
We (a family of 4 with a dog) had a great relaxing stay for 2 nights in spring vacation week. The view is so beautiful, especially early morning and dawn. The house is nice and lovely, small but have all you need for a short vacation, and gears for you to catch some crabs! It made our stay so comfy and convenient. Big yard, great for kids and dog running around. The only unproductive part is my husband has tried so hard to catch some crabs or fish for two days but ended up didn’t get anything lol. Local people said the water is still cold. Good luck with people at a later stay!

Top 5 Vacation for sure
We were looking for a WFH location to finish up my daughter's sophomore year in cyber school. This house was everything we hoped for and more! It was the perfect size for the two of us and our doodle. It had everything we needed and then some. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped (a garbage disposal AND sharp knives - a rarity in a rental house!). The water was better than bottled thanks to a full-house filter on the well. The beds were comfortable, and the yard was sublime. We were able to close off the driveway entrances with some temporary fencing we brought with us, and our dog was in seventh heaven with room to run and a dock to romp on. We saw ospreys and ducks and cormorants and jellyfish and fish (we didn't catch anything, but we're very new to fishing). We actually never left the house except for a run to Target for a graphing calculator. It was a perfect getaway! If you are sun-sensitive, I recommend bringing your own patio umbrella as the patio and dock are full sun from noon until sunset. We were lucky enough to need it every day because our weather was perfectly beautiful. I also recommend mosquito repellant. Five Gold Stars!

Relaxing vacation
Very relaxing stay by the water. The house was very clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, spices, etc. I would recommend a new nonstick but otherwise no issues! Plenty of ac units to stay cool and the dock was perfect for fishing and relaxing. We were able to get our kayaks over the rock wall pretty easily but our pups weren’t fans. They are more for the beach which we did find nearby. The fire pit and grill were great with plenty of charcoal and wood. We did buy extra at the market 10 mins away and leave some extras for the next person. Weis markets is 10 mins away and has everything you should need. Bring bug spray! Overall 5/5 and would stay again!

Million dollar view…but…
The view on this property is second to none but… The check in time was 5pm which is late to begin with but at 5 the cleaner was still in the home so we waited outside for her to finish while being eaten alive by mosquitoes for nearly a half hour. As we set up for the evening we grabbed the extra blankets in the bedroom chest for our son and the smell of body Oder was overwhelming, it was so gross that I ended up washing all of the household bedding for our stay and before we left so that no one else got the B.O. blanket. There were old dirty socks left under the couch and the prior guests bagged dog poop piled up on the side of the house, the cleanliness that they described was absolutely not there. There was a sewer smell coming up from the shower drain and the next day the toilet clogged, the smell was now coming out of the kitchen sink too, we contacted the owner who called a plumber who plunged the toilet and left…the smell lingered and the minute you turned the water on to the sink or shower it stank up the whole house so we couldn’t shower in a home we rented for 6 days without being hit in the face with sewer smell and the owner never contacted us after to see if it was fixed. They had so much rain prior to our visit that the bugs were crazy and we had a couple nights of storms while there and though they have Wi-Fi, they do not have a t.v. so if it storms or it’s too hot or buggy (at certain points we had all of those things) you can’t watch a movie as a family so we went out and bought a small tv so that we could at least watch a movie while it stormed. I understand that this place is advertised as a basic fishing shack but it should still be clean and have working facilities, we don’t expect fancy but we also don’t expect piled up dog poo and sewer showers, to say that we were disappointed would be an understatement. Without the sewer issue this place would be good for a guys weekend drinking beer and fishing but it’s not comfortable for any longer than that because the lack of interior comforts, uncomfortable beds, no tv, lack of cleanliness and lack of anything to do other than fish. The home has 2 board games and 1 book, soft spots in the floor, missing tiles and ants. They have nice appliances in the kitchen but this home is in serious need of some love and was not at all what we expected.

Peace and quiet.
Had another nice getaway. Caught more fish than last time. Best sunsets around. Had a fire going in the evenings and hung out on the pier. Was a real nice way to end vacation season.
