"The Guest House" on beautiful Sproat Lake!

Located on warm, inviting and crystal clear Sproat lake, the jewel of Vancouver Island. This beautiful, fully furnished and equipped two bedroom, one bathroom guest house is ready for your vacation of a life time. Easy lake access, a large dock with a sun shade and lounge chairs, canoes and SUPs available for your use and a play fort with a sand box for the kids make this the best place in the world to be in the summer! We also want guests to understand our entire property is nonsmoking. As well, because we share the property, we do limit the number of guest house guests on the property to 4 at any one time.
This reservation has a Firm cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 60 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 60 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 30 to 59 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 30 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, no pets.
Check in 4:00 pm. Check out is 11:00 am. There is no smoking on the property.

Unbelievable property with lake access from the VRBO (swimming, canoe, towels,etc) dock that you share with the host family, who is in the BEAUTIFUL main house. The place is the best stocked VRBO on earth! The hosts are beyond wonderful…available, responsive and friendly…but give you your privacy!

Beautiful location and accommodations

As pictured in listing, beautiful place to stay on a lake with incredibly clear water. Well equipped with gas barbecue, gas fireplace, espresso maker, very large washer dryer, canoes, paddle boards, dock for lounging. Would be great for families as well as couples. Private but hosts nearby and available if needed.

Stay on Lake Sproat

The property is stunning. It is a true home from home. Probably the most comfortable bed weve ever slept in, the sheets are so soft and smooth. The location cannot be beaten, right on the lake, with fantastic sunsets. There are even kayaks to use. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Amazing Place!

This stay was the best stay I have ever had while booking thru a ST platform. The hosts were super nice and they had lots of extra's like the availability of SUP's and Canoe's. The house was beautiful and the views are just like the pictures. I would recommend this home to anyone!

Sprout Lake excellence

We were in Port Alberni for a function that took up most of our time there which meant we didn't have enough time at the lake. We will definitely stay again if we have the chance to be back in the valley. We would have loved to spend more time in the lake and relaxing at the dock. Thanks Martin for a great stay!

One of the pure golden ones!

What a beautiful, clean, well-tended & private space! Everything we needed and more. The view from the property is incredible, and the morning canoe ride in the mist was pure magic! Great host, super helpful. Highly recommend this very special property!

Absolutely Beautiful

Pristine lakefront property nestled in the trees - our guesthouse was clean, quiet and very comfortable. At night the sound of crickets lulled us to sleep and in the morning there was a small family of deer passing through. Janis is an amazing, thoughtful hostess and we will definitely be coming back!

Perfect Guest House!

The Guest House was perfect and just what we needed on a recent trip to Sproat Lake to visit family. It is large and spacious with a very well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and comfortable beds. The gas fireplace in the living room was great for the cool evenings, and we enjoyed dinner on the large deck overlooking the lake. The location on the lake is beautiful - clear water, great for kids and swimmers - with stunning views even from the bedrooms in the rental unit. Janis and Martin have thought of literally everything you'd need to make you feel at home. We'd come back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful!

My husband and I had a fabulous stay at this cottage on Sproat Lake. Martin and Janis were wonderful hosts-easy to communicate with, very friendly but also respecting privacy, and made sure all our needs were met. The property is beautiful and use of the canoe/SUP’s, dock with lounge chairs were great to share as well. Lovely swim area too! The paddle across the lake to the Fossli park falls and suspension bridge was a nice surprise also. The cottage is well equipped with everything you may need and very comfortable with a propane fireplace as well as a heat pump for air conditioning if needed. We look forward to returning one day! Thank you Martin and Janis!

We had an amazing week at the Guest House! The house had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Air conditioning, gas fireplace, washer and dryer, big kitchen - everything was great and thoughtfully laid out. Janis and Martin are excellent hosts and told us to let them know if we needed anything. Their dock was well equipped as well with comfortable chairs, tables, umbrellas, etc. Swimming off the dock in crystal clear water was a highlight. Use of the canoe to paddle over to Fossli Park and hike there was really nice. Paddle boards were also made available for us to use.We were fortunate to have excellent, warm weather and ate outside on the deck every evening and most mornings. It is a 30 min drive to Stamp Falls fish ladders which is great to visit, and only 15 min. drive to Port Alberni if you have to pick up any groceries at any time. The guest house is set back behind the main house with a small view of the lake, but it is still a lovely place to stay. Thank you so much Janis and Martin!

Such a fabulous stay. Janis was friendly, helpful and a gracious host. Property had so many amenities and house had everything needed for a stay. There was lots of room and hosts provide so many helpful items. My only regret is we didn’t stay longer and take advantage of all the wonderful things we had at our disposal. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area. 10/10.

Beautiful location

Martin and Janice were terrific hosts. The Guest House was very thoughtfully appointed and we had absolutely everything we could ever think of. The Guest House has gorgeous views from several rooms and was quiet and peaceful.

Exceptional Quality Accommodation

The Guest House is absolutely a dream. Everything is totally perfect with amazing attention to detail. Added luxury with having use of the jetty with sun loungers, canoes, cabanas - too many to list there is nothing they dont cater for. The most amazing host and nedt place we have stayed.

Fantastic cabin right on Sproat Lake, with a comfy cabin and wonderful hosts

Our stay could not have been better. A really well equipped cabin, a wonderful fireplace, views of the lake, a relaxing dock out on the water, canoes to use, various other sports equipment to use, and best of all were our hosts. Couldn't do enough to make our stay as good as it could be. Went above and beyond what was expected. Can't wait for another opprotunity to stay there again.

Great getaway

My son and I throughly enjoyed staying at lake cabin. Lots of space for both of us and the fire pit down by the late was a great nightly routine. I would book again.

Beautiful Weekend Getaway

We took our 2 grandsons for the weekend to this beautiful cottage. The scenery was stunning, the cottage was excellently stocked with everything you need. Definitely a do-over😍😍

We really enjoyed our stay at Martin & Janis’s place. Great hosts and great accommodations.

The suite was very well stocked with everything you need. The lake front area was a fabulous place to hang out and cool off. We will return to this peaceful lovely place.
