Great Stay!
We had a wonderful time! This is an older home, right on the beach. The decorations are nice with tile floors throughout (which was great with sandy kids). The back porch is large with decking right to the beach. We plan to return.

Beach Getaway
We have been coming to Florida for over 50 years. We have stayed in many homes, town homes, hotels, resorts etc. and, I have to say, this was one of my most enjoyable stays. The house was even better than it looks online. It was very clean. The check in process and communication with Diane was so easy. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the bedrooms are very spacious. The back deck is huge and has plenty of places to relax. The kitchen is very well stocked. Access to the beach is by your personal boardwalk. It is a very short trip right to the beach and water. If you go, do yourself a favor and take the short walk to Shipwreck Raw Bar. Great food and friendly service. You are just a short drive to the town or Port St Joe and it is a great place to visit with restaurants and shops. We took our older German Shephard with us and he had never visited the beach. He enjoyed the many walks on the beach, and it was not crowded at all. We would go back tomorrow if we could but will certainly visit Dianes home again ASAP!

The Perfect Location
Our group of 4 loved this vacation rental home for our annual girls’ trip. This was our first time in this area and it will not be our last! The house was perfect! It was very clean and very well stocked. The view from the huge, new deck was amazing! That’s where we spent most of our time. The house was in the perfect location with just a short drive to restaurants, shopping, exploring, etc. We would highly recommend this rental property! You will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to visit again!

Beyond expectations
This house was everything the owner stated in the description. We were more than comfortable in the living area. The kitchen was very well stocked. Plenty of towels for our stay. The beds were very comfortable after spending the day playing on the beach We enjoyed many quiet nights on the large deck overlooking the gulf. The wooden walkway to the beach from the house made for easy access. If you are looking for a quiet beach with beautiful sunsets then this beautiful spacious house is the place for you

So good I want to keep it a secret
This place is absolutely a hidden gem. The location is top notch. You won’t find a better one. The inside has been refreshed and updated. The back patio is where we spent most of our time. Diane is an amazing host with quick response and clear instructions for check in. We love this place so much that we want to keep it a secret but it’s too good not to share. We will be back.

Great sleepy area!
We really enjoyed our stay, beach had hardly anyone else there, everyone we met was very friendly. Some trouble with cleaning in between our stay and the stay before us was quickly remedied by Diane. Back porch is really a great addition and was perfect for us to hang out on while the kids napped. It is gated and our dog loved sitting out there as much as possible.

Simply wonderful
This is a nice home in a perfect location directly on St. Joe Beach. It is located on a beautiful and not overcrowded section of beach with the cape in view. The new deck was a great place to watch the waves and the beautiful sunsets. The updated home was clean and comfortable for our family of six and had all the amenities necessary to prepare meals and hang in when the weather wasn't so beach friendly. Port St Joe is only a few minutes drive away for some shopping and excellent restaurants. Shipwreck Raw Bar is only a few minutes walk up the street and we enjoyed several excellent meals on our visit. There is also a well stocked Dollar General very close for essentials. Check in was effortless with communication from the owner. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can't wait to come back next year. A truly wonderful experience!!

Perfect escape from demands of daily life!
This is the perfect spot to getaway and relax! The beach is not crowded, your nearest neighbor is a block away and the new deck is 10/10! If you’re looking for touristy things to do, this isn’t it. The beach and ocean are very much natural (ie there is seaweed), the locals fishing everyday are incredibly friendly, and there are no high rises or water/theme parks. Shipwreck Raw Bar across the street is good and it’s a 10min drive to Port St Joe, where there are several cute, local restaurants and shops (and a Piggly Wiggly). The house had everything we needed and Diane was great to work with. The area is still recovering from Hurricane Michael, but shouldn’t deter you from coming!

Great Location
If you are looking for a place with a great view of the gulf this is it. The house is located on the gulf side of 98 and the view from the deck is beautiful. Diane is great about answering your questions in a timely matter. The house needs some TLC but is a great layout inside. Both bedrooms have a view of the gulf. Our four legged children had a blast and there is a great place to wash their sandy paws. One thing, the public beach access path is right by the house and you will have people walking by you from the neighborhood. The group that came from the neighborhood while we were there set up right at the end of the path so right in from of the view from the deck and one of the people relieved himself in the dunes in plain view of my wife on the deck. They might have been locals but no class either way. So far there is no washer and dryer which is not bad for a short trip but would be an issue for a two week stay. Not sure how crowded the beach would be in the summer with the path so close but it was pretty deserted for us with the exception of the one day. We will be back for sure .

Great Location - the house, not so much
I base my VRBO choices on reviews from past guests. So I feel it is important to leave valid reviews. We chose this site over one in PCB because we wanted to support the community post HM. We were surprised to find a house on the beach in SJB due to HM. Diane assured us her house would be ready for us at the end of January for our 9 week stay. Our main concerns were internet for work and the pre-hurricane damaged windows that were mentioned in past reviews. Diane told us two weeks before our arrival that the internet was back. In a prior message she listed all the repairs that were taking place on her house- including the windows that you could not see out of. When we arrived, we had no cable (and after I made several calls to Mediacom, I found out it will be weeks before the area has service) and the windows had not been replaced. The deck was certainly not safe or up to code. After meeting with Diane the next day and addressing our concerns, she bought a hotspot with one month of service and assured the windows would be replaced while we were there. To make a long review short, after three visits from window repair guys. they were never replaced while we were there for our 9 weeks. The hot spot worked intermittently. but when the billing cycle was up I had to call her to renew. The first month she did promptly, the second month she said she didn't have the account number and told us to go to McDonald's and use their wifi. When you rely on internet for work, McDonald's wifi will not suffice. We ended up buying our own hot spot. In summary, I'm well aware there was a hurricane in this area. But, do not rent out your property saying it is ready when in fact it is not. Had we known those things, we would have rented elsewhere. I totally agree with a previous review. this house is in much need of maintenance. Hope this helps the next renters when making the choice to rent this property.

Beware: Chronic Deferred Maintenance on this Property!
This home is located on a great piece of beachfront property, but has chronic “deferred maintenance” issues. Many items were broken and nonworking. Ocean-front windows need replacing—they are clouded, totally obstructing the beautiful ocean view. Outdoor fencing is rickety/broken and unsafe. Debris and clutter all over yard, & under house. Washer/dryer (as promised by owner prior to rental) was installed more than 1/2 way through our stay, with much ado (first washer delivered was defective.). Shower curtain & rod fell down DURING a shower! and door knobs fell off. There are no knobs or handles on any of the kitchen cabinets, making them difficult to open. We had to purchase a ladle and a pair of tongs—the kitchen could use some mixing bowls and an inventory of kitchen tools supplied (or lack thereof!) There wasn’t a blanket to be found in this 3 bedroom house (& the temperatures dipped into the 20s during our stay!). Owner’s handyman/electrician was sent to do repairs, and replace the outside light bulbs on the deck (still no light underneath house!). Deck is very unsafe/unstable and outside furniture was unclean and is in poor condition. The rate is overpriced for January (comparables), and owner has since reduced the nightly rate! I believe the owner should refund our stay—or, at a minimum, a good portion of it. Her property is NOT what she holds it out to be. (We DO have many pictures to support all of the above!). The 6 days/5 nights were VERY stressful due to the conditions of the property, as well as the owner’s poor communication skills. She complained before we ever rented that we had “contacted her too many times,” and we were chided for it. We were trying to find a place “at the spur of the moment,” as I had travelled here from Minnesota to visit my friend. In response to one of our communications to her during our stay, she wrote and told us that she was sure it didn’t matter what she did at that point, she was sure we would leave a poor review for her; and, that she would give us until noon the next day to GET OUT and that we needed to find A CHEAPER place to rent!! My friend, who has been very ill, couldn’t sleep that night for fear she was going to EVICT us. She says she has NOT, but, we know she HAS had complaints, all of which, obviously, fell on deaf ears. She needs to bring this place up to the caliber she holds it out to be, if she plans to continue to rent it out. VERY STRESSFUL & DISAPPOINTING.

Privacy on the beach
Amazing spacious private home with no close neighbors on either side. The beach was nearly deserted with calm clear water. We saw dolphins from the deck every day and once we saw a bald eagle! One morning I was on the beach and the dolphins put on a show for me, swimming close to the shore and jumping out of the water. Shopping is nearby with small shops, a Dollar General and Piggly Wiggly 10 minutes away. We had delicious seafood from Shipwreck Raw Bar just up the street several times during our stay. The huge beautiful deck was our favorite part! It was simply amazing. I appreciated that it was completely enclosed so that a small dog could roam free safely. The boardwalk to the beach was wonderful. There was traffic noise during “rush hour” morning and late afternoon because the house is right on the highway (as is every beachfront property in the area). Diane was a great host who takes great care with her guests and the small details of her home. We sure hope to come back next year!

Great House, Quiet Beach getaway
This house had comfortable beds, a great stocked kitchen. The huge deck and boardwalk and beach are the best part. The houses on either side are far away. There are sunsets over the water because the shape of how coast juts out. The beach wasn't ever crowded. There were people fishing around sunrise and sunset that I saw catching fish. It's a 10 min drive to Port St. Joe restautrants & shops. The beach has shallow water(up to 4ft) for over 100 ft out, then drops to about 10 to12 ft deep max., for 50ft, then a wide 3-4 ft. sandbar. No huge waves, calm waters most of the time. We had rental kayaks delivered to the house and crossed the the 1.8 mile end of the bay(45 min's 1 way) to the deserted beaches on the tip of the peninsula of the State Park that you can't get to by car. We and explored there and saw many fish, a couple rays, and many blue crab while snorkeling and collecting shells. They call it 'Old Florida', a quieter area without the tourist traps. I'd recommend this house to anyone. We had a great time.
