Über-modern home seconds from the Dunes & Sandbanks Provincial Park in the heart of Prince Edward County. Sleeps six (6). Outdoor fire pit, indoor fireplace, water views, BBQ, minutes from wineries, beaches, surfing, craft breweries, restaurants and art galleries. Book it year-round Summer or Winter. This place is an unreal, peaceful escape from the hectic big city!

Located on Sheba's Island (just seconds from the Sandbanks Provincial Park on Westlake), this spacious 2,000 sq. ft. bungalow offers indoor/outdoor living on an acreage, accompanied by walk-in shower, bath tub, an outdoor fire pit, board games galore* and close by to sandy beach waterfront for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, SUP, surfing, and many more water sport/boat rental activities. Neighbourhood overview:

It takes 5 minutes to drive to Sandbanks Provincial Park. It takes 24 minutes to drive to Mountain View Airport. It takes 51 minutes to drive to Belleville Airport. It takes 2 hours 15 minutes to drive to downtown Toronto. Quiet island life with super friendly neighbours... Please drive slowly on the island.

Getting around:

You will need a vehicle, motorcycle or a bike when exploring all the county has to offer from wineries to art galleries, antique shopping and micro-breweries, to farm fresh produce stands, world class golf courses, beaches and quaint county life.

Other things to note:

Water sport rentals can be accessed at the Westlake Wakeboard School (located 1 min drive from the house). Ben is the owner of the shop. He and his team will get you set up and treat you right!

TOWELS:
Please note that while bath towels are provided for you use during your stay, they are 100% NOT FOR BEACH OR WATER SPORT USE and are not to leave the home. We specifically provide beach towels for beach/water sport activities for all guests for the length of your stay. Should you lose or destroy a bath or beach towel a $50.00 charge will apply per towel lost or destroyed. Sorry to take such a hard line on this, but if we don't, towels go missing or come back moldy and soiled beyond washing. Dish and hand towels and bed linens are also provided in the home.

TOILETS:
Keep in mind that while you may be in a modern home, it is still county living and the water is on a well and septic. So please DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN HUMAN WASTE AND TOILET PAPER in the toilets. Sorry to mention this so prominently and in CAPS. Unfortunately, this has gone horribly wrong before and so needs to be said.

INTERNET / WIFI:
Unlimited satellite wifi; good enough to stream Netflix, Disney+, Amazon, Crave, HBO, CBC, AppleTV+ and more, plus zoom calls.

SMOKING:
Please, no smoking inside. As we cater to a variety of guests and healths, maintaining a smoke-free interior is very important.

KITCHEN:
If you are looking to cook-in, when using the pots & pans, please note that they are 100% metal and handles and lids will get hot when in use on the gas range. The hot mitts provided or a kitchen towel should be used when interacting with the handles, pans and lids.

SNOW:
It gets super pretty in the County during the Winter months with all the snow. To that end, a snow shovel has been provided located inside the boot room as you enter the suite in case you are in need of a quick shovel to get to the car or wish to clear the front path or the patio, BBQ area, etc. There is also some rock salt provided if you feel some is needed for the BBQ area (as it can get quite slick on the concrete with the wind; the rock salt is located on the patio in a rubbermaid bin inside the BBQ). The driveway and front path to the door are gravel, so should not be slick at all. Just crunchy with snow. ;)

Otherwise, we have a snow plowing service who comes in once a week and after heavy snowfalls to do the driveway. Around those times, you will be on your own for any snow you wish removed.

GROCERIES:
In Picton there is a Metro, No Frills and a Foodland.
In Wellington there is a Foodland.
In Bloomfield there is the Bloomfield Public Market for a variety of fine grocery options.
I'd suggest going to Picton or stop at any number of boutiques or farmers stalls.

BOOZE:
There are LCBO's in both Wellington and Picton. With the Picton location being the larger of the two with the better selection.
There are of course a complete host of wineries and craft breweries who will happily sample you some of their wines and provide you with off-sales.

PATIO CUSHIONS:
Please bring these back inside to store after each use so they do not blow away or become water logged.

FIRE PIT / BBQ:
Please ensure to turn off the propane when not in use. Same goes for the BBQ and the natural gas line. Simply shut the valve to the off position (perpendicular to the pipe in a T position), when finished. In the Winter, please leave the patio screen doors open, as they risk being frozen shut if left in the closed position and that entrance is useless until it thaws, or forces someone to try forcing the screen open which usually ends up in bending the frame and knocking it off the tracks. So it's just easier for all involved if they are left open for the Winter months.

CHECKING-OUT:
Please strip the linens from all the beds and pillows used during your stay (leave the mattress and pillow protectors ON);
Double check to make sure all gas valves are in the OFF position (for the BBQ and Fire Pit);
Please close all the curtains when you are ready to check out;
Lock ALL the sliding doors to the outside and double check them to make sure they've locked properly (please leave all the screen doors in the open position);
Reset and return all board games, nerf darts and playing pieces to their respective boxes for the next guest's use;
Please start the dishwasher before you depart;
Turn off all lights (interior and exterior); and
Lock the front door and return the key to the lock box and spin the numbered dials to 0-0-0-0.
Double check to make sure the front door is locked (especially in the cold months, as it can feel like it is closed and locked when it has not properly latched with the deadbolt).

Great Visit to Prince Edward County
We enjoyed this home very much. It was comfortable and well equipped for hosting meals for our family that live close by. The home is nicely decorated and we appreciated the interesting art collection. Arrival and departure were made very easy for us. It provided a wonderful place to visit and catch up with our family.

Modern meets cozy!
TL;DR: Modern with a homely feel! Where to start!? This property is a stunning break from character to PEC. Dotted throughout PEC are restored, classic, rustic houses - then there's this house. Modern, warm, inviting, but still feels incredibly homely and perfectly suited to the area. Set on a lovely piece of grounds, this modern haven is as nicely textured by modern materials as it is by gallery-worthy art, and detail at every turn. As far as being well equipped, that's an understatement. Bedrooms are bright, soft and spotless. The bathrooms have everything you could possibly need - even down to beach towels! The kitchen is definitely equipped to serve everything from a quiet breakfast to an evening feast, all of which can be laid out of a massive dining table. Even the living room has it all - from surround sound smart tv to a classic turntable. While not quite a beachfront, the patio more than makes up for it. There's wildlife throughout the grounds, and the owner celebrates that with little photos of birds nests that have been on the property - a lovely little touch! You can really tell with this property that the owner has thought of everything. To find any criticism of the property would be a momentous struggle - except maybe that our stay wasn't long enough!

Leaning Tree Lodge has everything you could ever need. The home is spacious, clean, with a full stocked kitchen and outdoor space. The beds were comfortable and the rain shower in the master bedroom was devine!! We loved staying there and will book again!

Memorable Eclipse Stay
Had a great visit to PEC with family to experience the total solar eclipse. Perfect location for viewing - we were able to see everything from the front lawn! Very close to Sandbanks so we also enjoyed beach walks. David was super responsive at all times. The home is beautiful and really well equipped ... probably the biggest variety and quantity of kitchen utensils, appliances, and dishes we have ever encountered in a VRBO. Appreciated food wraps, apron, ample dish detergent, etc. And nice to have designated pillows for patio (gas firepit was lovely) and so many great books and games!

This is by far the most beautiful and clean and comfortable property I have rented. The host was great in responding quickly. I would come back in a heartbeat. If we left a bit of a mess, then I am very sorry. But we were having way too much fun!

Lovely modern home
David’s place was comfortable and boasted a modern aesthetic that our party found appealing. The well-maintained grounds and the availability of a swing set added to the outdoor experience, and the selection of games for all ages was a nice touch. There was a record player, with some old records that we took full advantage of as well! The location was amazing, quiet and very close to sandbanks. There were also some local restaurants close by. The only downside was being unable to use the outdoor patio as it was quite dusty and had an excess of cobwebs. The pantry items were a bit sparse, so make sure to bring spices etc when you visit. We had a fantastic time and would wholeheartedly recommend it to others! Thanks David!

We had such a great experience staying at this cottage! The house is very spacious and clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook meals, even cook books! The beds are super comfortable. Highly recommended!

Our daughter and ourselves were celebrating our wedding anniversary during our stay. We also enjoyed having our 2 grandsons with us. David’s home provided ample space for all. a place to restore your mindfulness
the location is a heaven on earth, peaceful and silent. very friendly neighbours, a great route of about three km for a run with basically no transit traffic, the house it self has all you need in a high quality. a beach in walking distance. the best momemnts were having an early coffee at the rerasse where all still asleep or stay in pation and enjoy the peacful sundown. if you want to dive into the local food tjere are many options in picton, the royal, or the drake in wellington. the sandbanks round up the stay.

Amazing birthday getaway to PEC
Beautiful, luxurious and spacious contemporary property. Large enough for 4 couples or a family of 4-5. Very close to Sandbanks dunes which would be wonderful in summer months. About a 20 minute drive to Picton and great restaurants. Very detailed and instructive property guide making checking in and out a breeze.

Sisters weekend.
Lock box was not working but owners quickly walked us through to another lockbox. The outside grounds could have been swept a bit more for outdoor seating. The inside was very clean. Towels to go to the beach might be nice. Nice and quiet. Really nice neighborhood.
