Great Location, Superb Hotel, Magnificent Staff
I arrived at 1am and was greeted in the most warm and friendly way. The nature of that greeting was consistent throughout my whole stay, where staff could not do enough to make me feel comfortable and valued. My room was peaceful, immaculately clean and well stocked with toiletries, mini bar with soft drinks and chocolate. Room service was 24/7 and had a lovely choice of food and drinks. The restaurant staff were helpful and always friendly. Food was fresh and high quality with a wide choice available on the lunch and dinner menus. The breakfast buffet was thoughtful and catered for every need. Plates and cutlery were always clean, which is a detail often overlooked by many other top hotels. Used tables were cleared with speed and efficiency. Housekeeping was exceptionally fast with great attention to detail. Turnaround time for laundry could be as fast as 90 minutes and the cleaning of the room was superb. I did not use the spa facilities but it seemed popular and people coming from it looked happy. If I needed anything, it happened immediately, even if I just needed a chat or a friendly smile. I travel a lot and alone and can honestly say that I have never felt more at home in any other hotel. I was sad to leave not just the hotel and beautiful city, but so many of the staff who had come to mean a lot to me and who possessed an abundance of friendliness, care, politeness and efficiency. To the staff, I say thank you. Because of you, I loved every minute of my stay.

Best hotel in Pskov for the international visitor
As in most provincial towns in Russia (and often in larger cities too), in Pskov it can be hard to find information and service in English. However, as a brand new and super-modern hotel, the Pokrovskiy Hotel is clearly looking to cater for international tourists and business clients, so you are greeted warmly in English by the reception staff on arrival, and information, both on arrival and in the rooms, is in English. We chose the Pokrovskiy based on the photos we saw on Hotels.com, and these did not disappoint. Surprisingly, the Pokrovskiy was not the most expensive hotel in Pskov, but it certainly looked like it should have been, as it put others in the shade. The location, facilities (gorgeous pool, sauna, gym and spa, the bar, restaurant, superb breakfast buffet, etc.), decor, furniture and service are second to none. We went for a simple double room, which came with a beautiful wet room (towels, robes, slippers and all complimentary toiletries provided), widescreen TV (no English language channels, I'm afraid), modern lighting, plenty of storage and comfortable bed and bedding. Overall, we had a lovely stay in a superb hotel which would have cost a fortune had it been anywhere else in the world!

Ну что: изначально все хорошо. Маленький спа, но хлором не воняет и то хорошо. Чистый. Народа нет.одни по большей части до 18.00 были. Но это будни. Стандартный отель 3 звезды (явно не 4 тк нет выбора подушек например и две что есть уже надо выкинуть давно). Что не понравилось(индивидуально это конечно)- жесткая кровать. Матрас как на доске лежишь. Имейте в виду. Хорошо-завтрак. Лосось слабой соли каждый день:) и даже бульон куриный. 5 звезд:)если б соки свежевыжатые... Остальное-чисто . По скардинавски умеренно. Лишние "пальмы" повсюду в интерьере.
