We, like many other people, were very weary when pulling up to this property. It’s in the middle of a neighborhood that, for us Americans, seems like a run-down, unsafe place to be staying. Spending time there however, I quickly changed my mind the first day. People who live here are respectful and this seems to be a normal neighborhood for this area. My mind quickly flipped from feeling unsafe to thinking how cool it was that we were living like the locals do. I’m sure like any other city there is crime that you still need to look out for. At no point did I feel unsafe once I got a feel for the people around us.
The property is very nice and built by the owner himself. Oscar is a very friendly guy with an entrepreneurial spirit who is spinning many plates. This Vrbo is only one of his many business ventures. There’s little things here and there to nitpick, like low water pressure, that he can’t do much about due to the infrastructure of the city. The space gives you a mini resort feeling and safety of high walls with sharp prongs on the top. Oscar also lives on the property so if you need anything, he’ll be there very shortly.
I encourage you to stay here if you’re going to stay in Puerto Penasco. You won’t get the same cultural vibes from a beachside resort.
