This was our fourth time over a period of 8 years staying there. Itā€™s very clean, beds,bedding very comfortable. Very clean. Not one bug! However it is looking worn, some disrepair. The ā€œ extrasā€ arenā€™t there anymore. Small things like toilet paper holder needi g repair to wall, taps not a fixed securely. Stucco looking old and crumbling. Food was good. Itā€™s gone from special to a good quality basic feel.

Great location on the water. Comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful when I requested something. The hotel is notably older with the rooms showing wear and tear that doesn't seem to be a priority. There was no hot water in my room for the duration of my stay, Luke warm at best. Worste for me was the little bugs flying around in the room that I couldn't get rid of and would bite me multiple times every night while I slept (no bed bugs as I checked multiple times).

Limited dining choices and food not good at all. Only one beer to choose from, model and limited liquor selection. Majority of front desk staff, especially Eric, were rude and dismissive. Pedro and Omar were amazing! Great massages on beach in front of the resort for cheap were much better than expensive spa massageā€¦get a massage from Marta on your first day and you wonā€™t be disappointed! She is amazing!!

Great food and comfy beds, outdated and neglected. Resort can be quite loud. Rooms are quite old, especially the bathrooms. We had family staying at the crown paradise club and their rooms looked a bit more updated then what we experienced at the golden. Food selection at buffet is ok, but not quite the spread weā€™re used to. Restaurant reservations are usually gone within 10minutes. We donā€™t mind smaller resorts, but itā€™s too outdated for us to go back.

Making dinner reservations was a race. Start at 9am & by 902 am the only open times was 9 pm or later Our safe didnā€™t work & you have to be in your room 1st time we reported it at 7 pm & they came at 1030 pm & we will in bed. Who wants to wait in your room for hours. Finally they let me make an appointment to meet & that worked good

Disappointing Experience with Reservation Handling On February 5, 2025, our group of 20 arrived at the property after booking and fully paying for our reservations seven months in advance. Upon arrival, we were informed that previous guests had decided to extend their stay, and as a result, we were being moved to different rooms for the first night, with the promise of relocating to our original rooms a day later. This was completely unacceptable. A reservationā€”especially one that is fully paid for months in advanceā€”should be honored without exception. The rooms we were given on the first night were nowhere near the standard or specifications of what we had originally booked. Given the size of our party, the situation created a tense and uncomfortable environment, and the staff showed little flexibility or willingness to accommodate us appropriately. This mishandling caused significant inconvenience and nearly ruined what was meant to be a special trip celebrating with family and friends. For a property that likely prides itself on guest experience, this level of service and disregard for confirmed reservations is highly disappointing.

Paid for an ocean view upgrade, given a room on bottom floor in front of noisy bar. Patio door and front door locks had been tampered with and did not lock. Safe was not attached to wall and lock had been tampered with, maintenance in our room at midnight to try and fix the unfixable lock. Explained concerns to front desk, promised a room on top floor for next day. Told room would be ready, then was dirty still, then given away. We did not have a room. At least 3 other couples with exact situation! Daily occurrence at 3:00 in lobby. Finally spoke to manager, threatened to leave hotel, complained loudly, and magically our room was ready We had no phone, had to walk down to front desk for everything, room was cleaned once, our bed had no top sheet, miserable staff, guacamole provided once at buffet. Coffee machine broke constantly. Beautiful beach, (beach vendors allowed on hotel property.. could not relax, beautiful sunsets. Would never return to this hotel!

This was our third stay at Crown Paradise Golden and we will definitely go back. We love being right on the beach and being able to walk the beach into Puerta Vallarta. The a la carte restaurants are all great and it is easy to get dinner reservations. The staff are friendly and helpful. We love this resort!

I was initially worried about some of the negative reviews, but I had a great time here. Yes the building is a little older and could use some updating, but we never had any issues with something not working or not being available. The service more than made up for any negatives. They were quick with drinks, the food was great both in the buffett and al la carte restaurants. It was easy to book excursions, and we were close enough to the the Romantic Zone to get to the more touristy spots.
