It is not a true adults only property. Most common spaces like dining, lobby, some pools are shared with families. First floor doesn’t mean ground floor, I learned it the hard way. I booked a first floor unit, assuming first floor means ground level. I was wrong, too bad there wasn’t clarification. The beach is not usable, it’s full of seaweed and smells awful. The pools close at 7:00pm, I find that a bit early. Food was great, a bit confusing what restaurant is open when. Nice and clean rooms.

Everything went smoothly at check-in, thanks to Yudy, who was very nice and welcoming. However, my experience with Efran, the night shift employee, was quite the opposite. His customer service was poor, and he was very slow and unfriendly. If possible, I would recommend avoiding interactions with him.

This property was amazing! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary and it was so refreshing. I would have gave it a 5 star but the toilet in our room needed a seat that actually fits the toilet and the toilet didn’t flush properly. Also, when we ate at the Italian restaurant everything was perfect besides the two cats they allowed to run around (I’m scared of cats). We stayed at the villas and had a swim-up pool, personal butler, and our bartender Manny was amazing! We had an outdoor shower that was one of the highlights of our trip. This resort is definitely a must try!

On our first full day we got in the Luxury swim out pool and after we got out started getting a rash. We went to get medicine and was told it was a heat rash but it is more hot where we live than at the resort so that was incorrect. After several different medicines we got some relief. We stayed 7 days and no one ever cleaned that pool. We tried the main pool but there were not any bathrooms near there and no one ever got out to go so that was a put off. We thought we were going to an adult only resort but that was not the case. There was one pool that had a sign adults only but the resort itself was family friendly. Most of the staff at the restaurants and pools were not helpful and would not bring drinks or refills unless asked and even then it would take a while before they returned. After having stayed at the adult only Margaritaville in Puerto Morales Mexico last year we were very disappointed in this trip with the service and food.

We really enjoyed our stay at Margaritaville. The hotel is beautiful and very well-kept and the staff were lovely to us. The beach was ok but a bit rocky though this didn’t bother me as most of my time was spent at the pool. The dining options were broad and the buffet had a huge variety! I wish we had brought more American cash as there was nowhere to get additional funds and the only bank machine on the property did not work for us (it only dispersed Dominican pesos). Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay, the food, the room and the amenities.
