Why settle for ordinary when truly memorable is within reach? Featured in Architectural Digest, this historic home is a shining example of the famous mid-century modern design with open spaces, soaring ceilings, endless windows, and connection to the outdoors.
Entertainment is covered with bluetooth speakers, air hockey and billiards, 2 TV areas, piano, books and board games. Outside has two decks, propane grill, dining area and fire pit, playset with slide/swings, and cozy screened-in patio.
You'll have so much space to sprawl out and relax here. Never-ending windows showcase surrounding rugged beauty from every room, and many luxury touches such as all 1800 thread-count sheets are sure to delight. You’ll even find fun, unique and unexpected details throughout. For example, have you ever seen a photo-mural bathroom ceiling?
Spend an evening socializing at the lower level bar (it has its own fridge!) and watch the game while shooting some pool. Or grill some dinner out back and enjoy winter lake views on the deck, followed by s’mores around the fire pit. In the morning, relax on the screened in patio curled up with coffee and a blanket.
Bringing the kids? They’ll love the slide and tire swings, plus have plenty of room to roam, outdoors or in. Bringing the dog? One of our queen bedrooms has direct access to a fenced in dog run. You can simply open the door and have him (or her) run right out, as the fenced area surrounds the doorway. If there are any dancers in your group, this bedroom also has a mirror wall and ballet barre. We did promise unexpected details, after all!
The kitchen is a chef's wonderland with a 6-burner Viking range, vast assortment of accessories and pots and pans, convection microwave and tons of counter space. There's even a separate butler's pantry with an extra sink and prep space.
The three bedrooms have two queen and one full bed. There is a twin mattress with foldout frame in one of the closets in case you need it. The master bedroom has a great ensuite bath and California closet, and the shared bath has a jetted tub, perfect for even more relaxation.
The whole house is yours aside from a locked storage area in the basement. The garage, while accessible, is storing our vehicles. However, there is space for 2 or possibly 3 cars in the driveway depending on their size. There are SIX total access doors from indoor to outdoor, you’re sure to have a lot of fun exploring!
We are right next to Lake Michigan, just haven’t advertised it much since we're at the top of a small bluff without direct access. In winter we have a lovely lake view, but the lot is so heavily forested that you don't see past the trees in other seasons. We have a ravine in the back with a small creek that becomes a stream if it rains a lot, and we also see wildlife in the yard sometimes such as tons of birds, deer, and foxes.
This is mostly a ranch-style home, however the entertainment room with TV and air hockey that leads to the screened in porch is "sunken", there are 2 steps to access. There is a normal flight of stairs down to the lower level billiards/bar area, office and laundry.
