City Park has a gazebo, children’s playground and picnic facilities. Join or watch team sports at the baseball, softball and T-ball fields of Stub Myers Park. Follow the walking path here or play horseshoes while your kids enjoy themselves and exercise at the playground. Let children cool off on hot summer days on the splash pad at Majestic Park.
Discover an adult playground with a stay-and-play vacation at a local hotel accompanied by golf at Twin Lakes Village Golf Club. Nine golf courses are within 20 miles (32 kilometers) of town. Ski at one of the four major ski areas within a 1-hour drive of Rathdrum. Hike, cross-county ski or snowmobile in Idaho Panhandle National Forests just east of town.
Twin Lakes, north of Rathdrum, has great recreational activities, including swimming, fishing and boating. Climb above the lakes for excellent views of the blue-green lake waters and snow-capped mountains of the Sawtooth Range. In September, participate in the Rathdrum Adventure Race, an alternative marathon with long and short courses including biking, running and kayaking on Twin Lakes.
In summer, attend community concerts in City Park and a kids fishing derby on Rathdrum Creek. Late July features Rathdrum Days. Watch or participate in the watermelon-eating contest, wiener dog races and street dancing.
From May through September, visit the open-air Rathdrum Farmers and Artisan Market on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Select garden-fresh produce and souvenirs hand-crafted by local artists.
