Entire second floor in amazing, historic, Queen Anne Victorian home. Private bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room.

This amazing home was built in the late 1800’s. It has seen many uses through the years. It was at one point a steakhouse restaurant. It has been a home and a real estate office. The upper level is all yours! Private, quiet with great views of the surrounding mesas, town, and magical New Mexico skies!
Guest access
You will enter through the front of the building through the art-filled foyer and head upstairs where you will have your own bedroom, full bathroom and sunny sitting room. The property consists of 3 separate houses (all our listings) you may meet other travelers on the premises, around the fire pit or wandering around the beautiful grassy yards. The upper level of the Queen Anne Victorian is all yours and you will not be sharing the house with any other guests.
Just up the road to the west is a great little wilderness hiking trail system. Climax Canyon. there are 2-3 different little loops you can hike and see the local wildlife.
Head into the Historic downtown and grab locally raised produce, veggies and proteins from The Heirloom Shop.
Gate City craft-bar is a good spot for an afternoon cocktail on the sunny patio.

A walk down history
The property is pretty cool and because of it’s built it’s like walking down history. The house is what you see. The steps kinda creek as you go up to the second story but it’s just its authentic feel and vibe. Not gonna lie at first my wife was a bit scared she felt it was kinda creepy but it’s just cause the town is not what we are used to and it’s a bit less habited. The only thing I wish it did have was access to the kitchen. For example if you were doing a long stay y oui may want to cook something. We were just there as passing the night before getting to Colorado for that it was perfect cause we just had coffee and sandwiches in the morning before leaving. Overall I did enjoy it and the first floor is filled with great art.

Great Place to Stay in Raton, NM
The Second Story is a beautiful old home right on the main drag on the south end of Raton. Traffic was a little noisy at times but not much of a distraction. We had the entire second floor that has a sitting room with a great easterly view of the mountains and mesas that that made for wonderful sun and moon rises. Great little restaurants all over town, which you'll need because there is only a small refrigerator and coffee maker. We had a very nice stay and will be back at the Second Story when visiting Raton, NM!
