Goose Landing Cottage by the lake with BRAND NEW year-round Hot Tub

The cottage is a wonderful getaway for 2 people, but can sleep 4. It is down a private road on the back side of a spring fed lake, turtles and Canadian geese and bald eagles flying over it. Swim or kayak from your own private dock. No motor boats allowed. The cottage is nestled back in the woods with your own private hot tub. A great place to get away, see wildlife such as deer, turkey, Canadian geese, an occasional fox. Best for a couple or a single person.
Take a short stroll down a path to a wonderful spring lakefront.

The cottage is great for 2 ppl or a couple with one child over the age of 6yrs. it has everything you would need. A spacious bathroom with a washer and dryer, a wonderful large tiled walk in rain shower, with radiant heat floors. A door from the bathroom leads to your private hot tub open all year, facing the woods.
The kitchen is rustic and modern with everything you need to prepare a wonderful meal. Radiant heated floors for the colder months, a commercial gas stove and full size oven. Granite counter tops and a built in banquette with a french door leading out to the patio sitting area and commercial propane BBQ.
The living room has wide plank wood floors and a wonderful cozy, twin sized window seat with a reading light and a view of the woods. This can also be used as a twin size bed. There is a desk, and plenty of seating options .
There is a ladder up to a cozy loft with a queen size bed, reading lights and a window on each end for a nice breeze and a view of the trees. For those of you who would prefer not to climb a ladder , there is a sofa that pulls out to a queen size bed, new and very comfortable. The loft does not enable you to stand up. We provide all of your quality bed linens and plenty of extra pillows.
For those staying at the cottage in the spring, summer or fall, there is a delightful screened in porch to relax and read a good book.
Your own private lake front awaits after you take a quick stroll down a path through the woods and walk down a staircase to the dock and pergola area. 2 kayaks are attached to the dock for your use. There are life jackets and a couple of floats. A perfect place to spend an afternoon swimming or kayaking or an evening with a glass of wine, watching the sunset on the lounge chairs.

Exquisite retreat
We stayed the weekend (visiting our kid, a student at Bard College nearby) and were utterly charmed by this cottage, which has been beautifully designed and maintained. We loved the comfortable window seat, spacious, modern bathroom, updated kitchen, and lovely private dock and seating on the lake. The loft bed was very comfortable (but might be a challenge for those with mobility issues) and we hope to return.

The cabin is beautifully decorated in a very quiet corner of the world. The dock is only a few minute walk down a path and it's a very peaceful place to stay for a few days. We very much enjoyed our stay!

A beautiful cottage
The title really says it all. The cottage is beautiful with an updated kitchen, inviting living space, strong wifi(no cell service so the strong wifi was a godsend), and a nice bathroom. The hot tub was perfect for the two of us and the view from dock was wonderful. Ellen was also very responsive and quick to help when I (through my own fault) locked myself out of the cottage. Overall a 10/10 experience.

The perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment of the Hudson River Valley!
This little place is a gem. In its woodsy quiet setting, it was everything we were looking for and more. It looks small and quaint on the outside, which we loved, but inside everything is new and clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen and bathroom are clean and modern, the bed is comfortable, and the window seat is the perfect place to relax and read. The short walk to the lake is fern-lined and leads to a leafy deck-overlook to the lake with chairs and tables and a porch swing. We took our coffee down there each morning and even used the kayaks. The host was responsive and kind and had provided all the little touches our stay needed. We would absolutely recommend this little cottage!

Cozy Cottage on Peaceful Lake
My husband and I like to swim and kayak, so this location was perfect, and we loved exploring the area during our week at Goose Landing. The cottage was designed so well that even though it's small there was plenty of room for the two of us. The kitchen was wonderful, with lots of counter space, a big modern SS gas stove, and all the cookware and utensils we needed. The furnishings were lovely and comfortable. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful, and communication was excellent. It was obvious from the minute we got there that Ellen & Adam work hard to take care of their guests and make sure things go smoothly. There was a binder explaining everything in the home and providing lots of useful information, and they anticipated any question we could have had with handy labels throughout the house. When we arrived we were greeted by a bottle of wine and lots of treats for the next day's breakfast. This is a beautiful home and the owners are truly superhosts :)

Beautiful Property
Overall it was a nice experience. Great property, nice accommodations. Had a wonderful time until the day after I left. I was accused of stealing robes and blankets, when in fact they were still in the house. They had been left in a heap on the floor of the bathroom and I, not wanting to ruin our stay from the start by complaining, decided to shove them all in a cabinet and not give it a second thought. The day after I left I called the owner back as she had reached out through email and was greeted with “oh you took the robes?” The conversation sort of spiraled from there. We disconnected, I texted her letting her know when she finds them I’d appreciate an apology and that she would be getting a bad review. I clearly took it easy, because as I said the place was great, it is probably an even better experience in the spring and summer. Just make sure you catalog every single item you move while you are there, lest you be accused of theft.

Goose Landing is such a special place! It was the perfect home base for us during a visit to Bard College. The house is exactly as described, and even more lovely. The window seat was the perfect place to read a book during an afternoon storm. Highly recommend!

Warm inviting cottage with first class touches!
Our stay at The Cottage was lovely…and very private…The hosts have thought of everything! The jacuzzi temperature was just right and very clean…We appreciated the welcoming bottle of wine…next morning breakfast was provided along with fresh ground coffee… The rain shower bath was something you’d find at a 5-star hotel…we sat in the screened in porch and read and listened to the sounds of birds. We spent 3 days and never left the cottage except to walk to the dock along a fun little path and fish and enjoy the beautiful peaceful lake… A perfect break from Manhattan… everything we had hoped for…thank you… We’ll be back!

Unhelpful host
The place was in a nice location, short walk to a lake, hot tub. They left a nice place setting with a bottle of wine for me. However, the hot tub had debris in it (not awful but I would have needed to clean it if I wanted to use it) and the dock wasn't swept, the chairs on dock were dirty. It just seemed to have a lack of care. On top of that, the internet wasn't working and I had no service up there (which is fine, as long as the internet is working). I chose this place because it promised wifi. When I reached out to the host she told me to reset it and when that didn't work, she told me there was nothing she could do because it was a holiday weekend. She didn't offer any other help and was pretty rude when I seemed upset about it. She wasn't apologetic or sympathetic and refused to even discuss a refund or discount or anything given that the listing didn't deliver as promised. I didn't end up staying there but was still charged for both nights. Not the level of service I expect from a host.

Absolute Gem!!!!
This cottage was absolutely gorgeous!!! Very well appointed with kitchen to die for and a large, beautiful bathroom! Hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day...cottage has a large screen TV but it was rarely on...if we weren’t spending the entire day at the lake fishing, kayaking, swimming, or reading, we were on the back patio or screened in porch listening to music and enjoying the beautiful weather...another plus?? No mosquitoes!!! I don’t know how Ellen managed that but that was the biggest surprise!!! Access to the lake was simple and an easy walk...VERY quiet and Ellen could not have been nicer! I would recommend this cottage or any of their properties!

Great stay at Goose Landing!
We enjoyed our recent stay at Goose Landing. The cabin is designed beautifully with an updated bathroom and a gorgeous kitchen. The lofted bed was sweet and felt like we were sleeping in a cozy tent. Access to the lake and use of the kayaks was enjoyable and the lake is full of turtles and jumping fish, as well as lots of birds overhead (including a falcon!) that are beautiful and entertaining. Note that a few other properties on the lake are under construction and it could be noisy at times. Great location to explore the Hudson Valley and surrounding area. Hot tub and outdoor fire pit were nice touches as well. Our biggest complaint was that the house next door was being reroofed during our stay and they started pretty early in the morning, before 9am. We later found out that the house next door is the same owner. This was disappointing that there was not more communication about the construction. We texted the owner when construction began but did not receive a response until we were leaving. Our stay was not as quiet and restful as we would have hoped and more communication from the owner would have been appreciated. But that being said, we would certainly return and recommend the cabin. Just check in about any planned construction before booking.
