"We were in Austria but the rains closed all the trains. We decided to go to the Interlaken area. Hotel Alpenrose was the only hotel that wasn’t double our budget. It is really more of a cozy bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was a little bit out of the way but the trains are so easy in Switzerland than it wasn’t an issue. The ride back gave us time to get caught on emails and send pictures and texts friends and family. We would stay there again. "

"The property has great views of the lake and is convenient to get to if you have a car. If not you have to take the boat to get to the hotel. The only problem we had during our stay was the limited options of food available as there are no restaurants nearby besides the hotel restaurant."

"If you are looking for a hotel in the Grindelwald area you should stay here. Everything about his hotel is outstanding. The rooms and the entire hotel are very clean and quiet. The view from our room of the snow-covered mountains was beautiful. The entire staff was wonderful. They are interested in making your stay with them feel like you are part of this family-owned hotel. They are celebrating their 125th anniversary this month. NOT in town but a 10 minute walk to town on a path. free bus service upon checkin but walking back from town would not be for the elderly. the staff were very nice and helpful and check in was quick. especially good if you make your own food/ nice shared areas and porch. more outside areas to relax would be nice and perhaps a bar. "We were welcomed with a drink on the beautiful balcony while they brought our bags to the room. The room was spacious and air conditioned, however; the comforter was heavy. The breakfast was wonderful. A very nice buffet with an incredible view. They even had mimosas! The spa and outdoor tub looked nice but we did not use. We would definitely stay here again. "
