booked this place on Expedia thinking that I would be staying in a nice apartment in Reykjavik.
I got an email confirming this.
Then I got an email about another apartment (which was not in any of the pictures on Expedia). I was a little confused and sent an email to the company. No response.
I arrived in Reykjavik at 0300. I spent half an hour trying every single keypad at the Laugevegur location but none of them worked.
I then checked my email again ( none of them stated that my accommodation had been moved) and walked to this place at 0330. I had a room in the attic which was well furnished, but with low ceilings that made it impossible to stand while I was showering, and long brown hair on the bedding that made it apparent that it had been slept in recently. The apartment looked nothing like the photographs on the website.
I called them the next day, and a very pleasant man assured me he would take care of the situation.
He didn't, until I wrote a review on Expedia, at which point there was an apology issued, but no refund accounting for the change in lodging from "central premium luxury apartments" to an attic.
I was in Reykjavik for 72 hours, and this was my only negative experience in Iceland (which is otherwise amazing and anyone and everyone should visit).
I should note that the apartment itself was fine, and IF I had paid for an attic, I would have been perfectly happy.
I would NOT recommend this company
