Dog-Friendly Farmhouse Annex for 4 in 1066 Country & High Weald AONB

Our self-catering annex, with 2 bedrooms (1 double and 2 single beds), bathroom, kitchen with under counter fridge, cooker oven and washing machine, living area with FireTV, is a comfy and convenient base to explore 1066 Country and High Weald AONB. We are off the A21 about 1.5 hours drive or 1 hour by train from London. The medieval village of Robertsbridge, train station and high street is approx. 15 minutes’ walk away. Browns Farm Shop next door offers local produce and food essentials.

Amenities:
The annex has two bedrooms: master with double bed, another with two single beds. There is a kitchen with under counter fridge (no freezer), washing machine, cooking stove and oven, cooking utensils, cutlery etc. It also features a dining area, living room and bathroom with shower. TV entertainment is Amazon FireTV with apps like Prime, ITVx, Netflix, etc. Also a DVD player and a selection of DVDs.

Setting:
The annex overlooks a horse paddock to the front and a decked area to the rear alongside another paddock. Annex guests are welcome to use this rear decked area which has outdoor dining and seating furniture and is a shared space with the home owners.

Our property:
We are surrounded by fields for grazing sheep and cattle, though you won’t have to look far to see ‘wild life’ as we also share our home with our dogs and a herd of rescue horses.

We are conveniently located off the A21, and just 10-15 minutes’ walk to Robertsbridge village, which offers shops, a café and bakery, pubs, restaurant, pharmacy, post office, vet and overground train station.

1066 Sightseeing and Attractions:
We recommend driving if you wish to enjoy the various attractions of 1066 Country/High Weald AONB. E.g. Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle, Pashley Manor Gardens, Darwell Wood, Scotney Castle and Carr Taylor Vineyard are within 15 minutes’ drive or less. While Rye, Hastings, Camber Sands beach, Chapel Down Vinery and Herstmonceux Castle are approximately 30 minutes’ drive away.

A lovely place to stay. Very clean, well organised and beautifully decorated with the nicest view of the horses out the front. The hosts were very welcoming and kind. We would definitely stay here again.

A great little discovery, super quiet, clean, beds very comfortable, and everything set up for a great stay - We were working in the area, so was a perfect spot for us. Fran was super attentive and very helpful.

A calming get-away
The location was perfect, a short drive away from Battle and Hastings, day trips were effortless. The annex was spacious and really well equipped. The farm shop is a 2 minute walk away, and had everything we needed. Fran even kindly introduced her stable of horse to our baby, which made her day!

Great vacation in Browns Farmhouse
The cottage offers enough space for 4 people. It is neat, clean and nicely furnished. The only thing missing was a large pot for cooking. Otherwise, the kitchen has everything you need, although there is no dishwasher. The farm is great and thanks to Fran we were able to say hello to the horses. We felt very comfortable and had a very good time.
