"I stayed here for 6 nights with my wife and we really enjoyed it. The town is very quiet but it's a short drive to cities like Leeuwarden and Harlingen for activities. There is a grocery store in the next town over so it's a quick drive or bike ride if you need to pick up anything. "Our Holiday in grou was wonderful. The house was really well equipped and big enoug for all of our family + our dogs. The garden is surrounded by fences and hedges. That gives you a lot of privacy and you don`t have to worry about the dogs. The garden is big enough for playing tabletennis and badminton, which we did a lot :-) Moreover there is a little ferry 5 minutes away, which brings you to the city center for shopping or visiting restaurants or doing some waterspouts. "Obwohl der Wettergott nicht so ganz auf unserer Seite war haben wir einen traumhaften Urlaub erlebt. Das Haus ist wunderschön eingerichtet und sehr gemütlich. Mein Lieblingsplatz war am Fenster mit Blick auf den Kanal und die vorbeifahrenden Schiffe . Auch von den Ausflüge in die Umgebung mit den kleinen gepflegten Orten haben wir sehr genossen. Rundum ein traumhafter Urlaub den wir hoffentlich bald wiederholen werden"

"The owner of this property must use google translator as most of the messages he sent me made no sense. This then made it difficult to understand the check in process. Thank goodness the kind lady at the registration office clarified things for me. I understood that towels/tea towels would be included with the linens, but there was an extra fee for these items. Just a note for mobility challenged guests, the stairs are very steep and narrow."

"Lovely location and clean property. Niggles were around the owner not responding to questions about what would already be there (there were filters for the coffee machine, now there are 2 boxes! There is a car charge point nearby but no idea if we could have accessed it). We also weren’t sure if we were allowed onto the jetty but presumed we were. But a nice quiet place to stay."

"The listing did not reflect what we found. We came with 6 adults and two cars, but could not get a second key and fob. We entered the house and found the beds were not made and ready. There were dirty dishes stacked in the cupboard. There were spiderwebs and dirt inside the house. The outside and laundry room were a messy. Some of the screens were broken. The listing said the pool was fenced, but when we asked if we could use, they said no we can’t. Declutter and use some quality furnishings....

"We stayed eight nights during which we were joined by another couple for four nights The apartment provides more than adequate private and shared space decorated in a bohemian nautical style with proviso that, being Dutch, it all works! We used the balcony most days and the local bar restaurant four times. Recommend Catharina is extremely helpful. We arrived on a Sunday after a week on road and she laid up some things to get us through Monday morning. She kindly did a load of washing to get us...

"Tolles und gut ausgestattetes Haus. Alles war wie in der Anzeige beschrieben. Die Lage ist für einen sehr ruhigen Urlaub optimal. Leider sind die nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten selbst für nur ein paar Frühstücksbrötchen 8 KM in Lemmer entfernt. Bei schönen Wetter eine Runde mit dem Fahrrad bei schlechten Wetter ohne Auto nicht machbar. In Rutten selbst ist außer Ruhe nix. Wir sind aufgrund des Wetters viel Auto gefahren."

"What a relaxing time we had! The ducks come up in the morning and beg to join you for breakfast. People smile and waive in the boats passing by and even a load of cows on a boat came by. We can’t say enough about this lovely rental. Everything was absolutely gorgeous! The finishes were all high end and the relaxation you feel on entering this place is priceless! Make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to stay here. We’re so glad we came"
