Browse bullfighting memorabilia, a collection of antique weapons at the Plaza de Toros and artwork by famed artists, such as Francisco de Goya.

Discover the history of bullfighting in Ronda and Andalusia at the Ronda Bullring Museum. Spot matador clothing, centuries-old firearms, portraits of bullfighting nobility and paintings by world-renowned artists. Ronda Bullring Museum is spread across several rooms inside the Plaza de Toros bullring. After visiting the museum be sure to tour this architecturally impressive 18th-century arena.

In the main museum gallery, costumes, documents, mounted bull heads, paintings and sculptures highlight the significance of bullfighting to Andalusian culture. Find matador costumes worn by distinguished bullfighters, including Antonio Ordoñez and Pedro Romero. See a replica of La Tauromaquia (Bullfighting), a series of 33 etchings by Francisco de Goya. Admire paintings by Edward Orme and Victor Adam, among other artists.

Go to the Royal Harness Collection and marvel at the opulent horse carriage harnesses and saddles. One example is a saddle used by Queen Isabella II of Spain. See 290 well-preserved firearms that date from the 1600s to 1800s. These include guns from the armories of English royalty, Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis XIV of France and Philip IV of Spain.

Get an insight into the aristocracy and gallantry of the Real Maestranza riding school in the Real Maestranza Gallery. Highlights here are the portraits of Philip II and Infante Gabriel. Learn about the art of horsemanship, dressage and the rearing of Spanish thoroughbred horses in the Equestrian Gallery. On some occasions you can watch students of the riding school practice in the gallery’s adjacent arena.

Be sure to explore the Plaza de Toros, one of Spain’s oldest bullrings. Enjoy panoramic views of the arena from the center of the inner ring. Visit the stadium’s bullpens, chapel and stables. Attend a live bullfight during September’s Feria Goyesca.

Located in Ronda’s El Mercadillo district, Ronda Bullring Museum is less than a 5-minute walk from Puente Nuevo. Stop at nearby attractions including La Bola’s shops and Plaza Carmen Abela’s nightlife area.

Ronda Bullring Museum is open daily and has an admission fee. The fee covers entrance to both the museum and Plaza de Toros. Pay an additional fee for an audio guide in English.
