"Emma contacted me unprompted to see what time I would be arriving, which was a nice courtesy. Enjoyed a nice slice of homemade cake with my tea upon arrival. Nice touch! My single room was ideal for a solo overnight stay. Comfortable and warm. Excellent breakfast included plenty of tempting options, all served in the spacious breakfast room. "Upon arrival no staff was to be seen, but was polite and showed us to our rooms. A few hazards on entry grates raised up on tile flooring at entry ( trip hazard) lift doesnt work. We was there two nights no fresh towels or bedding. Had to buy our own toilet roll. Cleaness needs a good clean over, walls had stains, carpets need a good clean. Overall was warm, comfy. "Enjoyed our stay, pet friendly in most rooms which was a bonus for us because our dog travelled with us. Staff pleasant and friendly. Unsure about the food because didnt eat at the hotel, had a drink in the bar which was pleasant. They are doing work to the hotel so scaffolding to front of building. "Great location on the edge of the town to walk the dogs to the beach and beyond. Breakfast nice, but pricey. Loved the dog showers/towels made available for when you get back from a muddy/sandy walk. Also, the free coffee and cake which was welcome after a long walk. Hotel was really warm, so had the window open most of the night which then subjects you to some road/seagull noise."

"Absolutely stunning hotel in beautiful grounds with the most amazing views. My dog had a lovely time walking around the gardens . The breakfast was great and the evening meal was delicious. The staff were really friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Hardly noticed the current building works and would reccommend to anyone. "

"The service provided by the local team at Gisborough Hall was of the highest order, but more important was the fact that staff were always cheerful and displayed a positive demeanour which is so sadly lacking in many hotels and restaurants in this country today. We felt like we were visiting family during our stay and will look forward to returning."

"Unfortunately not a perfect stay which was very disappointing with it being my husband’s birthday, booked through Hotels.com so not allowed to use the pool unless we paid £45 each, I have never heard of this before.The rooms are very nice but paying £5 for nut or crisps is ridiculous. The breakfast was very underwhelming with minimal choice, awful cold poached eggs, cold plates, weak coffee, all left me feeling very sick! Not worth £291 for one night. "

"Lovely hotel,gorgeous room,we stayed in Las Vegas and this room was so big and airy. Debbie was so helpful and approachable,she helped with everything including bus tine-tables. Only 15 mins to whitby but Hinderwell was a lovely village if you wanted to stay local, a few pubs in the village. There is a bus stop that runs direct to whitby every half hour,this is directly outside the hotel. The cottages and barns looked gorgeous and I will most definitely return again in summer months. Breakfast was also lovely,so many options for continental. Again Debbie was welcoming and helpful at breakfast. Thankyou for the lovely stay . "
