"This is a lovely, clean and very comfortable apartment. The area was quiet despite being by the port. We had everything we needed for our stay. Grandcamp is a nice little town with great restaurants and the boulangerie / super market, all in walking distance. Highly recommend."

La location est très bien située : calme assuré, nous sommes tout au bout d'un chemin avec les champs pour horizon. Nous sommes à 30 minutes à pied du port/centre ville. Enfin, lieu idéal pour visiter les lieux du débarquement. Merci"

"Très vieux chalet en bois mal entretenu. Mouches très nombreuses à l'intérieur. Propreté plus que discutable (vaisselle..). WC sanibroyeur défectueux avec odeur persistante et projection d'excréments. Barbecue extrêmement rouillé donc à utiliser avec beaucoup de précaution. Terrasse en bois pourri donc vous passez au travers : attention blessure et en plus il faut amener vos outils pour réparation. C'est une blague cette location."

"Stayed here during the 75th anniversary of d-day. On arrival didn't know how to check in but was not a problem as owner lives next door. Great location to easily get to other places. Resident chickens in the garden made our stay welcoming and interesting. One day owner left us fresh eggs and on the last night of our stay left us a bottle of wine and biscuits. Would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back."

"We enjoyed the relaxing location just outside Le Molay Littry. It's 50mins from Caen in countryside like Cornwall, but without the people! We weren't aware it's right next to a cow farm but they weren't a bother, but there are a lot of flies,which we got used to. The house is a little sparsely furnished but spacious. The bedrooms could do with a chest of drawers each and there's room for them. Downstairs is a bit minimalist too. Some soft furnishings would break up the noise a bit. The town...

"We had a lovely stay here. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and well equipped. We met our host once and she was very warm and friendly. It’s a beautiful area to visit, especially Bayeux and the Normandy Landing Beaches."

"Nadine me us on arrival. She speaks only French, we speak only English. However, with the use of a translation app on her phone we managed. She provided a thorough explanation of the features of the property. The property was spotlessly clean with a really well equipped kitchen. There is a beautifully landscaped garden and it is fully secure, important as we had two small children with us. There are many WW2 historical sites within easy reach, also true of beaches. "This was a beautiful old hotel, the staff tried very hard to accommodate and overcome any language barriers. The bar was small and cute and the heated pool and spa looked beautiful. Our room had no lifts only a narrow set of old stairs, that was a struggle with our luggage. "The hotel was centrally located to the train station and the pick up for most tours. There were plenty of restaurants nearby as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't have time for the spa but wish I did. It lookedd amazing. I highly recommend."

"Lovely hotel right in the centre of Bayeux with everything easily within walking distance. The room was lovely and warm and the bed was very comfortable. The hot tub and swimming pool were a nice touch after a day of walking in Bayeux and on the Normandy beaches. Highly recommend. "

Hotel Le Lion d'Or et restaurant la Table du Lion

"We throughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Le Lion d'Or. Excellent location for visiting the DDay memorials ,and seeing the sights in Bayeux. Great restaurants and shopping within a short walk. In the evening after our excursions, it was so nice to come back to the hotel where there was a warm fire in the bar and comfortable seating to relax a bit. The hotel staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast served at the hotel was delicious every morning. It included many options and everything was fresh and tasty. The woman who was in the restaurant every morning was kind and made our dining experience wonderful. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed on Monday and our schedule prevented us to have dinner in the restaurant, la Table du Lion? The menu looked special and everyone said the food was delicious. Hopefully, we will get to try it on our next trip to Bayeux. "

Excellent hidden gem

"Top notch service. Well appointed, modern, and immaculate rooms. The room was so nice that I felt bad messing up the sheets to go to bed. The site was walking distance to the beach. Site itself was stunning. Even though it was not beach front, the grounds and greenery were pristine even off season. I enjoyed the fact that it was a much smaller hotel and had lots of refinement and personality without seeming stuffy. The service staff was stellar who showed us our room and offered to help with our bags. Even though our receptionist didn’t speak English fluently. She tried her very best and it was much much better than my failed and laughable attempts in French. Even then she remained unflustered, professional and friendly. The hotel does have a sign up front that states they speak English but I feel I should at least try to blend in with the culture. "

"Absolutely spacious, comfortable, and convenient lodging with 3 separate bedrooms with on-suite full baths in the heart of beautiful and quaint Bayeux. What more could you ask for? Accommodations were above and beyond expectations as was the multitude of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, not to mention the gorgeous cathedral and the fascinating tapestry museum. It's also a close drive to the WWII museums and cemetery as well as the must see Mont Saint-Michel. Highly recommended!"

"We had booked at hotel la Bayeux but when we arrived we were directed to hotel Normandy. It was a little confusing but we called the number and had no problems. The girl who checked us in was super kind. Our room was perfect for our family of 5. We had Breakfast there and it was nice to sit and relax for Breakfast. We wish we had planned more time here. It is a lovely town. "
