This is a convenient hotel very close to the train station and car rental area. The room was clean and had a nice shower. It was an easy10 minute walk into the town of St Malo. We had breakfast in a nice small cafe across from the train station.

Parking is tight and obviously was created when cars were smaller. Not sure it can be reconceived but guests should know about this. The hotel could have a list of available parkings in the area. Just a suggestion.

Disappointing
I was really disappointed with my stay here. When we checked in, we were given a 'superior room' on the first floor, overlooking the main road. The hotel was not busy at all, with many rooms available so I asked if we could change to a room on a higher floor or not overlooking the road. I was told this was not possible immediately in a very curt manner. Although the room was very clean, it did not look like the rooms advertised on here and was very lacking in any kind of character. The corridor we were on smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The area where the hotel is located is not nice, a 20 minute walk outside the ramparts and near industrial buildings and the train station. Other small things bothered me given it was a four star hotel: there were two of us yet we were given just one small water for the room to share. There was a kettle with mugs for tea and coffee but the mugs, made of plastic, were completely stained and brown inside, not what I would expect from a hotel of this calibre. This all seem like easy things to fix and could have been very much improved by the staff being more accommodating and keen to please guests. I would not come back.
