Our family of four have just spent a wonderful two weeks in Tracey and Rob’s gite and are wishing we were still there. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped with lovely furniture and décor. The outside space is amazing, beautiful suntrap of a courtyard, sparkling pool with comfortable sun loungers and then a lake full of fish beyond. What more could you want? The local area is beautiful with so many places to visit and things to do. We enjoyed lovely trips out to Bordeaux, Bergerac, to the night markets of Villefrance de Lonchat and Pizou, wine tasting in beautiful St Emillion, canoeing and paddle boarding at Lac de Gurson and a top notch lunch at Bucket’s Auberge Inn (which is within reasonable biking distance). Our 11 and 9 year olds also loved the high ropes and zip lines of Accrozarbres. Many hours were spent relaxing round the amazing swimming pool in the glorious sunshine. Our daughters loved staying at the gite - as well as the swimming pool, the table tennis table and swings were put to good use and when the sun became too much, the gite’s wifi was sufficient to power their gaming/Netflix requirements. Tracey and Rob were excellent hosts, we spent a lovely evening with them sampling Tracey’s homemade plum gin! They are very knowledgeable of the area, very friendly and happy to help whenever needed (thanks for the jump starts Rob!) yet you’d hardly know they lived next door. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday at La Maison du Lac and wouldn’t hesitate to book it again next time we’re in the area – which we definitely will be, as there’s still lots of places we ran out of time to visit and the weather is amazing!
