"Hotel is on an industrial estate, out of town, but convenient for us travelling from Spain to UK, as not far off motorway. Room small, compact bathroom. Basic but adequate, tidy etc. Positive surprise was how good the power shower was and a nice, quality, good priced, buffet breakfast. "

"Advertised as a comfort room with bath/shower room, well yes it had a bedroom and a shower, unfortunately this is a prime example of “style over substance”, it’s not finished to a good standard, from untrained wooded sections on the shower room door, to a sink that has obviously been badly hung, large unhygienic gaps in the sealant, a loose floorboard at the foot of the bed, so you catch your foot in it in the night if you go to the toilet, the bed is anything but comfort, very high in the...

"We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat. And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs...

"A run down hotel with a lot needed to bring ip its standard. My tour across Spain and France has seen many fantastic laces to stay for less money. Even the free internet was broken in a town where O2 coverage was poor. Sadly i couldnt wait to leave. The photos give the wrong impression"
