The location is stunning, but need to be aware there are 138 steep steps to get to beaches ( which are fabulous ) and boat to Salcombe! Not a problem with the house but the beach cafe is currently closed and for sale… limiting amount of local places to eat on East Portlemouth side of estuary. Ferry is easy to get to Salcombe And water taxis also...

"We had an amazing room, The Penthouse, with beautiful views of the coast. Had a very warm welcome. We did repeatedly say the trip was to celebrate our Ruby wedding Anniversary but this was not acknowledged! The interior decor and setting is beautiful. We had dinner and room service, food was nice but menu was the similar and a bit limited but other days we found so many nice places to eat. The breakfast was nice, especially eating on the terrace but was let down by having to make your own hot drinks at the buffet with poor quality tea bags. There were so many dogs even in the restaurant and unfortunately dog poo in the grounds although obviously this was the owners fault it was rather off putting. We had some lovely walks along the coastal path and down to the beach, very steep on the return! "

"The lodge is very well equipped with lots of little extras like cooking oil, games, DVDs etc. The beds are very comfy and sleeps 5 people really well. The site is very quiet and has a kids play area. Easy to walk to East Soar and then to the coast path or to Overbeck Gardens & down to South Sands to catch the ferry to Salcombe. "

"Really lovely home with great off street parking for two cars (we easily fitted two mid sized SUVs on the drive).Situated minutes from the centre of Salcombe and the coop is less than 4 mins walk. Highly recommend. "

Easter break on the Farm

"We had an amazing stay on East Soar Farm. The property was clean, comfortable and cosy, and was like a home from home. The log burner with an endless supply of logs was very welcome on the chilly nights.Our three young children had great fun spending time with the animals, including getting into the field with the newborn lambs and nursing them! Our children are desperate to return.The surroundings were beautiful, and there were a number of lovely walks along the coastal path, which was on the doorstep.Schalk and Marijke were wonderful hosts. Their communication before we arrived was extremely helpful and timely and they were readily available throughout our stay."
