the rooms don't look like they do in the marketing images; massive strike outside that runs from 6:30am to 10pm. can hear it all the way up on the 26th floor; shower in room was broken; staff was nice, but they're dealing with an really tough piece of real estate

There were striking workers in front of the property beating drums all day and into the evening. While I support unions and strikes for fair wages and benefits I was startled when I checked in. But that was minor compared to the elevators often did not work or were malfunctioning. I spent 15 minutes in the lobby at 10:45am waiting for an elevator we ultimately were put on the service elevators to get to our rooms this occurred twice. Also the cleaning of my room only occurred once and my stay was from Wednesday to Sunday.

The hotel is beautiful, love the architecture, historic vibe. My room was lovely and the bed was comfy. The only thing was my wall was next to the elevator. Like literally wall to wall so the noise from the elevator going up and down was bothersome. didn't hear it during the night but early in the morning and during the day when I was in the room trying to rest or work. The protesting noise outside didn't effect my room only when you would go outside or in the parking garage. The drumming was deafening.

This property at one time was probably A1,, but with the workers outside beating on the drums chanting that they need more money it really would ruin the comings and goings from the hotel and to the hotel I feel that the staff should be paid what they’re asking for. San Francisco is not a cheap city to live in Cost-of-living is going up constantly and so should pay grade. We were there for five days and we never got our room cleaned or our bed made. The Westin Marriott needs to give their workers a raise in pay. The elevators were working half the time, when my husband and I first arrived. They gave us keys to a dirty room. We went up to the room and the bed was unmade and the bathroom, had towels on the floor. It was pretty shocking. You could hear the striking staff outside beating drums at 6 o’clock in the morning. Protesting untill late in the evening.

The property is very nice. Beds were comfortable and my room was spacious. My only complaint is that there is a picket/strike going on in front of the hotel that we were not told about. You could not hear it inside the hotel but when you walked outside they bang on metal drums and buckets with big sticks and talk through loud speakers. It was very annoying when coming and going. Because of the strike the bars and restaurants are also closed. These are things we should have been notified about.

Do you enjoy history? If yes, then stay at this hotel. Is it old? Yes, it is. Is it well taken care of? Yes, it is. If you like modern, then stay somewhere else. FYI- they are having a strike right in front of main entrance. It is LOUD. (Give them what they want) Why sacrifice the name & your potential customers & reviews like mine for not making your hard working employees happy!

I love the St Francis. But its always super frustrating when hotels dont tell you they are under construction when you book. Our room was cleanish, old food was still left in our refrigerator, and it was more then just from the person right before us. The keys to our room quit working so went back down got new ones they didnt work either, went back down he called and said the battery was dead in the door. Security met us and said the keys werent properly made. Totally first world problems, but when youre booking a first rate hotel you expect a bit more. Also there was some kind of strike happening with the workers from the hotel out front. The location is great, and it was comfortable for the two night stay. Just a few lil hiccups and let downs fro mexpections from past stay experiences @ this hotel

Great location as it was in union square, the staff was very helpful. It was just sad that there was a strike outside the hotel during our whole stay, I hope they get their needs met soon. When it comes to the room it was pretty tight, when we checked in we had to call front desk to get the towels changed coz there were make up stains in the towels, and then the shower’s glass door looks like it was not cleaned, full of gunk and watermark. The glass door actually doesnt stay shut, so we had to use a hair tie to keep it closed. There was a notepad but no pen. Very comfortable bed and pillows tho. They were very nice to send us microwave in our room coz my sister needed to heat up her food since she has dietary restrictions and cant just eat anywhere and anything. I really appreciated that. And the hotel feels safe once you're inside. Overall, front desk staff and concierge is amazing, I cant say the same for housekeeping. Room needs some updating/fixing. Overall this place itself is okay. You can definitely do better for less.

Totally understand the fact that they going true a dispute wet the workers for a new contract but the make no excuses for the cleaning of the rooms Oslo the staff was not friendly
