The Babette (Hebrew: God’s Promise) is a newly built family home. The original house was built in 1967 but as the years went by we rebuilt in 2017 and joined the VRBO family January 2018. This private home is a Family Oasis and we’ve decided to share this beautiful experience with our guest.

Our humble abode is centrally located in the heart of San Ignacio Town, with that said it’s a perfect point to start exploring this Town of ours as it’s a stone’s throw away from down town with a 2-10 minutes’ walk to all major tourist attraction

Spacious, comfortable, relaxing with a home away from home experience would best describe this house. The entire home is fully equipped for families with children, couples, singles or a group of friends, to be specific it fits 10 guest with comfort. Air-condition unit in all 3 bedrooms as well as kitchen and living area. Your kitchen is fully equipped with granite counter tops, stove, refrigerator, microwave, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, plates and a double sink. A small dining area which seats 4 is also perfect for meals. We also share this space with our living room provided with cable television and a wide variety of channels... It s a home where you can spend quality time, bonding with family n friends while in comfort. I must mention we have 2 huge terrace with hammocks and outdoor furniture which is perfect for relaxing with views of our famous Macal River Park as well as the very friendly neighborhood.

This house was was in walking distance of the market, lots of restaurants, shopping, etc.a short cab ride to Mayan ruins and most things you could get to just by walking.the house had everything you needed and it was a great experience.

Terrific House
We loved how clean and nice the Babette Home was when we arrived. The location is really nice and in easy walking distance of many restaurants, the MayaWalk Tour pick up spot, and the downtown market. We did have a small panic attack when we arrived with our party of ten kind of wet and dirty after a long tour day and we could only find 6 towels. But, the host responded very quickly and was three within the hour with all the towels we needed. We would stay there again!

Great Location
The Babette Home is in a great location to be able to walk around San Ignacio. It is close to many great restaurants. The owner was very helpful in recommendations for tours and questions we had. The house was very spacious and had a nice space outdoors with the hammocks. The televisions are very high on the wall and the couches were very low to the ground. Access to a washer and dryer would be a nice benefit. Overall this home was very nice for our family.

Fabulous location in San Ignacio!
The Babette House was perfect for our family while on vacation! It’s a short walk to downtown and our favorite places to eat, Guava Limb and Hodes! Loved our time in San Ignacio!

What a great start to our trip.
Everything was just as it was listed online. The check-in process was smooth and easy. The only thing we struggled with at first was the one-way road. Attempted to go down the wrong way. Figured it out pretty quick. Everything was clean and smelled great when we came into the house. All the air worked super well, we were only there one night and would have loved to stay for longer. We would definitely recommend this property. Everyone could come together in the common space but then go to their own private room and bathroom afterwards. We had a great dinner just a few spots down from the house and the food was wonderful.

Clean, comfortable, spacious, and great location
It’s a nice property with comfortable beds and plenty of space to move around. It’s set up to either rent entirely or in part with a communal kitchen/gathering area. We were pleasantly surprised to have the whole home to ourselves. The two 5-gallon jugs of water were a nice touch and cold water waiting in the fridge. Nicely equipped. Cool blowing AC. Hammocks on the upstairs deck overlooking the park. The location can’t get much better. It’s on the main road, which isn’t to say it’s loud and busy. There’s not much commotion in San Ignacio. It’s walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We took the owner’s recommendation to book transport tours with MayaWalk, which was right down the street, and it made it so easy to get around and explore. The landscaping was well kept and colorful. The interior was in fairly good condition. It seemed recently renovated though there are just a few some signs of wear. Not many points of concern. There are several access points into the home. It was a bit of a safety concern for us. We triple checked that every door and gate was locked before going to bed. The check out list also included taking the trash out and washing the dishes. I don’t think that should be a guest’s responsibility but in our case we hardly had any of either so it wasn’t a big inconvenience. We would definitely stay here again!

3 Very large units and a common area. Very clean at a very reasonable price. 3 Nice balconies. Some amenities could use some updating. Need to bring your own Amazon Fire Stick or Roku if you want live TV. Close to the best restaurant in town, the Guava Limb. Would be much nicer if there was a washing machine. Ideal location for all activities in the Cayo District.

This was super great. Three huge spacious rooms. Full kitchen and living area. Two patios to unwind. 5-10 minutes walk to all the best dining options in town, and the central location where all tour groups meet. Free WiFi, and owner provided 5-gallon drinkimg water drinking water jugs as needed.

Great place for a big group
Our family of 7 loved having so much space. The location in town is perfect. Quiet and just a short walk to buy street tacos or check out the market. Great base camp for exploring the area. There was always street parking available just in front of the house.
