Having never visited San Jose, we found this property and it caught our eye. It’s up in the hills and the view of the surrounding are was beautiful. It was nice having a balcony to enjoy breakfast and just relax while recalling the previous days adventures and planning the next.

Alta Las Palomas, a quiet retreat in the city.
Alta Las Palomas is a unique hotel with great service. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. The only small drawback is the AC is currently out of service. However, we were comfortable in our room with the mountain breeze.

Air conditioning was broken, they never did nothing to fix it or offer another option to make my stay more comfortable, it is Costa Rica it was HOT, I could not sleep at night due how hot it was. Food was good one day and next day was awful, and then again good. Never consistent.

Arriving in this gorgeous sanctuary of a hotel after a long day on the road was most refreshing, nourishing and exceeded my expectations. The warm welcome with juice and face towel, the service, the staff, the beautiful facility, everything was amazing and like a rejuvenating oasis after the dust of the road. Truly a gem of a hotel. Incomparable views and wonderful staff that went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. A little off the beaten path but very relaxing. Restaurant was delightful and staff was very helpful in arranging tours of the area.
