"We have stayed at Steve’s and Nancy’s for two weeks and experienced their hospitality, friendliness and such a warmth. Loved the place : super comfortable, very private yet close enough to know the host is there when you need them. Steve and his helper rescued us from a very daring car trouble for which we were so grateful. We enjoyed the tranquility and spectacular views, jacuzzi on the huge terrace was awesome. "We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the beautiful, spacious, well equipped home. We loved sipping wine on the deck while spotting monkeys and other visitors. The pool was perfect, and Brian was so incredibly helpful and accommodating! We were sad to say goodbye and hope to be back! **Note the location before booking. "I NEVER do any reviews. This was compelling. We had a horrible two night stay. For the entire two days, not a drop of running water!! The host said it could come anytime but he did not know when because it was a ‘water company problem’. He ‘could not do anything about it and “that’s the way it is” he said. "What a treat! This hotel is definitely worth the trip up the mountains! We stayed for one night in the superior tent and it was amazing! The view, the service, the jacuzzi, the hospitality. "The Staff in all areas is very friendly and do their best to provide great service. For instance, the staff in the restaurant was very accommodating on our dietary needs, since my family is allergic to gluten and dairy products. Since the day we visit it was breakfast buffet, they helped us to cook some eggs for us to avoid cross contamination. The only thing that we noticed is that the hotel is could be a little noisy, as is quite close to the main street. (which at the same time is convenient for easy access)."

"What an amazing experience staying at Santa Juana Lodge! Myself, my husband and our 2 year old daughter had an amazing time here. The views were incredible, and sleeping in the screened in bedrooms listening to the wildlife was so relaxing. Even though we were here in February it was very comfortable and cool sleeping at night. We arranged transport through Santa Juana Lodge which I would highly recommend. It was nice not having to worry about driving up the mountain. My husband did the birding tour with Alan which was absolutely incredible, they saw 55 birds in a few hours! My daughter and I walked to the waterfalls (with her in a hiking backpack), it is about 1 mile out and back on a very quiet road. I loved that there was a smaller waterfall which was great for her. The big waterfall looked amazing but was more appropriate for adults or kids who can swim. It is a steep walk back! The best part was the welcoming and friendly staff. We especially loved making empanadas with Julia, fresh tropical juices with every meal, and the endless supply of fruit (which made my toddler so happy!) I wish we stayed an extra day so that we could do the nature / waterfall excursion. But we hope to return in the future! Staying at Santa Juana was one of my favorite travel experiences I have ever had."

"This hotel was wonderful; the tour guides were particularly knowledgeable and also great with kids! We enjoyed the restaurant and especially the views from the rooms (we had 3, and all were incredible). It is a bit of a walk through the cloud forest to the rooms, but there is help for luggage, and it's exactly the kind of walk you come to Costa Rica to take! Thank you Dantica! "

"Room was comfortable. No view from room. Pretty area with gardens around walkways. Not a lot of outside seating areas. Most rooms are a walk uphill a ways. Not many have close parking. Trails uphill behind resort. 4x4 drive to upper parking was in good shape and looked good enough for 2 wheel when dry. Dining was fine, with good service. Trout was good, though I think it was better for lunch up the road at the next cafe. Bar area has seating and fire. Happy hour 3-5. The resort seems to do a lot of large bus groups. Dining room was full with 4 tables of 10-15 people and just a handful of couples at other tables."
