"Das Haus ist nett, die Küche gut zu verwenden, aber etwas knapp eingerichtet. Die Lage am Risegaard-Hof ist echt schön, sehr still und mit gutem Blick auf das Meer. Leider mochten wir das Bad überhaupt nicht. Es hat zwar ein kleines Fenster, aber die Belüftung ist sehr schlecht, so dass sich Schimmel gebildet hat, wenn man die Dusche nicht trocken reibt. Der Duschkopf war primitiv. Die Handtücher trockneten im Bad nicht. Das war alles nicht gut."

Great location

"Our room and bath were small, under the eaves, but we had everything we needed. Bathroom was down a deep step, which we had to get used to. Breakfast was across the street at the sister hotel in a "hyggelig" breakfast room. There was a little COVID-era quirk: we had to put on plastic gloves before using the breakfast buffet. Hotel is conveniently located, next to the Tourist Information Center, close to ferries and origen of bus routes to visit the entire island, as well as a short walk to Rønne's main square, Store Torv, with shops, cafes and restaurants."

The shower, of course, had the usual European design that spreads water on the bathroom floor, which was a bit tricky for my wife who has mobility problems. There was also a metal shelf placed along the bedroom wall which was a bit of a hazard. We liked the wheelchair lift to the dining area. On the other hand, also typically European, the thresholds for every doorway were awkward for a wheelchair with small wheels. Meals were excellent; breakfast buffet had lots of choice. Part of the visit occurred when the restaurant had closed for rennovations and guests ate in the bar. Dinner coincided with a big rain storm that caused a bad leak over the bar, yet staff and guests together were cheerful and helpful, almost enjoying the sense of catastrophy. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay, good value and very convenient to Køge. Don't miss a side trip to the park at Vallø Castle, which is a short drive south from the hotel."
