Choquequirao Sanctuary Lodge

2.5 star property

"The small hotel is in Marampata, Peru, close to Choquequirao. Everything that gets to Marampata comes on a human's or mule's back on a brutally long day of hiking. The fact that the hotel exists there is amazing in itself. No idea how the mattresses got there. My son and I stayed 2 nights on a recent hiking trip to Choque. We didn't want to carry tent/sleeping bags/ground mat, etc...and add day/s to the hike, although we could have camped for very little money. The hotel was well worth the...

"This was incredible. If you are looking for a 5 star resort this may not be for you , but if you want a real authentic experience with an incredible view , I mean incredible. (This is saying a lot as I am from Alaska and have a high level of expectation for views ) the family that runs the base camp and restraint were so sweet this was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in my life. Can’t wait to plan my trip back here! "

Birds Hotel Molino

3.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (11)
"My stay at Hotel Molino was wonderful. It was a getaway-within-a-getaway, a break from the hustle and bustle and constant movement of site-seeing and hiking in the bigger cities of Peru. The setting is gorgeous. Wonderful views and an amazing garden plus chic architecture make the Hotel Molino simply a gorgeous place to stay. The proprietor, Holmes, is fluent in English and Spanish and goes above and beyond for his guests, resulting in a feeling that is more similar to a homestay than a night at...

"If you want the Waldorf Astoria, don’t stay in Aquas Calientes. However, If you want a nice low key place to stay at a very reasonable price in Aquas Calientes this place is great. My family of three stayed 2 nights in the room with 3 beds, private bath, and balcony over the water. Alejandra was such a great host for us. The room was clean, had hot water in the shower, and very comfortable beds with warm blankets. As others have said, it is a little bit of a walk up the hill , but it was...

Terrazas del Inca Bed and Breakfast

3.0 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (589)
"This hotel was very unique. We stayed on the 3rd floor (no elevator but that wasn’t an issue for us). We had a room with 3 beds which was very convenient for our family. The hotel itself shows its age but it was only one night so we didn’t mind. Breakfast was good, they offered eggs, coffee, cheeses and breads. Our room was a river view (while not attractive due to pollution) it was nice to have the windows open and hear the rush of water to help you sleep. The shower was also spacious. "

2.5 star property
4.8 out of 10, (3)
"We could not find the property. We got a local person affiliated with the company that we did the Inca Trail with to attempt to take us to the Hostel. The problem was that the address listed in Expedia led to an abandoned building that was being worked on. They may have had a temporary location set up, but we got locals to phone the numbers listed and there was no answer. So, we stayed at another place instead."
