"What an amazing place. Perfectly located in the center of Mindelo, we could not have hoped for a better location. Staying at this hotel made us feel like we had stepped back in time to Southern Europe in the early 1970s, maybe with the exception of the internet connection, which was quite good in our room. "It is a low cost hostel and well worth the money. Nice big room with a big bathroom and a small balcony. It was clean, but could do with a little renovation. The staff were friendly and spoke good English and they provided me with a bag with some breakfast, since I had to leave before 5 am. I will happily stay there again. "

"We stayed in Mindelo during the carnaval, la Pousada Monte Cara is located 5 minutes by taxi from the center, in a quite location overlooking the sea. On arrival, Maria, the owner had prepared a chicken soup for our 4 year old daughter, thinking that she might be tired on arrival, we though it was extremely thoughtful and our impression did not change during our stay: all the hotel staff is kind, attentive and very professional, we felt very welcome and relax.
