Lovely, friendly hotel in a peaceful location. The family room suited us perfectly and we loved the little touches like welcome biscuits and mints and chocolates on the beds each evening.
My wife and I recently visited this excellent hotel set in a lovely woodland setting on the lovely island of Sark. We had visited the island before on a day trip from Guernsey and passed Socks Hotel whilst walking to nearby Dixcart Bay. The hotel looked so peaceful and attractive that we were determined to return to the island for a few nights. On our arrival the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. We were to find this approach was one adopted by all of the employees. Our room was well equipped and furnished. The "fine dining" restaurant was excellent and the bistro/breakfast room, with views over the pool/gardens also provided high quality refreshment. We were fortunate to enjoy clear nights during our stay which allowed us to take advantage of Sark's Dark Sky status and see a vast number number of stars. A truly memorable experience close to the grounds of a memorable hotel. A lovely spot with great staff and very attractive surroundings.Am sure this visit wont be our last.
The staff was amazing. They were so friendly and accommodating . On the day we were to leave our ferry was delayed and Kathleen made last minute arrangement for us to take the cargo boat in order to get to our flight on time. The hotel is beautiful , the bed comfortable and the food incredible. It was a perfect stay.
Lovely small hotel in a beautiful setting with friendly staff, cosy bar and excellent dining.

We stayed for 3 nights. Our room was lovely and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a beautiful setting and the facilities were very good. We were, however, disappointed with our evening meal in the bistro, mainly because the room lacked any atmosphere and I felt a 4star hotel should be using cloth napkins.
Lovely hotel with stylish rooms and modern facilities yet retaining the feel of a family country home. The restaurant food and immaculate service is equal to any experienced in big cities charging much higher prices. A wonderful 2 day stay recommended for anyone enjoying comfort, excellent and friendly service
Everything about our stay was excellent, lovely rooms, friendly and efficient staff. Great choice for breakfast. Would not hesitate to recomend to family & friends
We can't praise this hotel enough. It is set in an idyllic location. The buildings and grounds are beautifully kept and spotlessly clean. I contacted the hotel in advance to say we were visiting for our 25th Anniversary and we were given a free upgrade to a beautiful room. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant, helpful and professional. The bar and restaurants were cosy and food and wines were excellent. We recommend the late turn down service and the tour of the island in the hotel's own Horse and Carriage.
Really friendly and efficient staff. Hotel felt very homely and relaxing . Lovely snug "dairy room" to relax just off the bar. Food amazing especially local food- try the Sark beef pie! Room good size and well done on design of it. ️Lots of room in wardrobe and drawers so we could put everything away and it felt like home for our stay instead of tripping over our cases. Good shower, warm room, heavy duvet! Loved the card each night with weather report for next day and aspirational quotes. ️Lots of lovely details to Stocks that made it a really special stay. Can't wait to return!
We spent one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, room excellent. A very minor problem on the food side. The chef hadn't heated one or two things through properly e.g.the pistachio desert but the welcoming 'happy anniversary' tray on arrival was a pleasant surprise.
Also, nice touch at the end. My wife had left an item of clothing behind, which was promptly shipped back the following day.
Very friendly staff at all levels.
Very comfortable rooms with tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer, jars of shortbread biscuits and boiled sweets. Each day individual chocolates were left together with a sheet of paper with quote of the day and a weather forecast.
The Poolside Bistro is used for Breakfasts ( Sark Breakfast was excellent but the Continental Breakfast had no breads, tiny croissants/pastries and processed vacuum packed cheeses ) and also has a limited range of very well cooked dishes for lunch and evening meals ( The Soup of the Day, Fish of the Day and Beer of the Day are all posted on a blackboard ). Lobsters are also available here. Very limited choice of desserts. There was a more formal restaurant but no notices of any dishes available unlike every other hotel we've stayed in.
There is also a Smugglers Bar attached
Checkout went smoothly although initially the bill included money already paid through Expedia but that was sorted out quickly
Great location for walking and exploring
Beautiful, but too expensive, noisy and hard beds.
On the upside this is a Beautiful place in lovely surroundings and extremely clean. Most of the staff are helpful, especially the bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff. The rooms have lovely decor.
We paid for a premium but moved to a standard room as we had no wifi or phone connection and it was necessary to keep in touch with home. The bed also squeaked and was not comfortable. Too hard for me as no small back support. The standard is very basic but still so pretty. The absence of a single chair in the standard room was a shame. The problem with the standard room was that we had the same problem with the bed (too hard) and the room was extremely noisy, you can hear everything above you throughout the night and early morning. We weren't offered a reduction for this room but when we asked to mice were charged a supplement to mice to the suite. We 'felt' ad if we we'
Re a nuisance. Feedback not welcomed by all reception staff. Our final room was extremely nice, it would have been quiet except the hotel staff put all the empty bottles in the bottle bank nearby at 7.30 am on our first morning and the glass recycling bins were emptied at 9am. What a racket. We spent far more than we would normally spend, our bed was too hard and both rooms were too noisy for us. The prices are rising next year and it looked like our room would cost £295 for b&b next year. This is not value for money.
