"Standard chain hotel, but the room was nice, looks like it had been updated fairly recently. We had the unfortunate timing of checking in along with some hockey families from Quebec who didn't speak strong English, so checking in took an unexpectedly long time, no fault of the hotel or staff though. After the wait it was a very pleasant stay."

"This quaint little yellow cottage is the ideal stay for anyone looking to getaway from the hustle bustle of life and get back to basics. Perfectly located on Charleston Lake, bordering the breath taking Provincial Park and just down the road from the sweetest little rural town of Landsdowne that has all the basic needs. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore nature during the day, be it hiking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, paddling or anything else and relax by a cozy campfire under the stars, listening to the loons at night. We had a wonderful time! Greg was a fantastic host and look forward to our next stay. "

"Online information false/misleading and the property is completely unsuitable for anyone with even minor mobility issues. I was booked for two nights but left after one and went to a motel. - notwithstanding what the website advertises, this cabin does NOT have a bathroom. A bathroom is available in the main house, 50 or so meters away. It is not separate from the host's living space (i.e. not private). To use the bathroom at night, you will need a flashlight (and an umbrella anytime it's raining). - although it advertises having a kitchen, there is no running water (cabin is not plumbed). There is a jug of water and a sink that drains into a bucket. - second floor loft bedroom has a ceiling only about 4 feet high. Average person cannot stand up to dress in that space. Extremely awkward moving around (hands and knees) - ladder from main floor to bedroom is an attic-style, pull down staircase. One can navigate reasonably well going up but descending its very steep slope is treacherous; it's an accident waiting to happen (nowhere near what the building code requires for staircases) - view from the cabin is the main house, a laundry line and parked vehicles Rustic in the extreme, but much better than a tent. For the price, would have expected much, much more. Probably OK for youthful, adventurous types. Hosts friendly. I get what they are doing but project poorly executed. "
