"Despite my late check-in, the folks at Middle Flass Lodge were ready to go. Very friendly and I was made to feel immediately welcome into their place. Classic and quaint."
"Room was immaculately clean. Bed was cozy and shower was massive. Great breakfast and the owners were so hospitable. Highlight of our trip from the states. "
"Stayed at The Plough for one night and can’t recommend highly enough!
The staff were very warm and welcoming, the pub has a nice atmosphere, the room was great and the evening meal and breakfast were delicious!"
"Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!"
"What a gem of an Inn!
From the old bar, we were made to feel very welcome. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Beds were comfy and the place was quiet. The curtains blotted out the light!
The bathroom was clean and very swish.
All in all, well recommended for a night, a weekend or a week! "
"Amazing trip away, the pub is outstanding and the huts behind were brilliant to stay in.
There are no cooking facilities but we were aware and planned accordingly.
The mattress was not the most comfortable we have slept on but still would return in a heartbeat, had a brilliant trip away for a birthday treat. "
"Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again."
"Excellent staff, lovely evening meal and breakfast. Room was spot on with a bath....perfect for walking the dales way. And to top it all, proper hand pumped beer"
"Friendly and informative host.Excellent location for walking. Only one pub(The Red Lion) in the immediate area. The food was of a good quality but was over-priced."
"Wonderful discovery with exceptional value in the heart of the dales with half a dozen easy walks to majestic coves, waterfalls, past sheep cows peacefully grazing on a green carpet of endless grass…"
"Everything was great. However the parking was not. Had to navigate tight one track road to turn and then park down the hill on the road and walk back with luggage. Could do with a secure drop off."
"We took a spontaneous trip to Malham Cove for a night away.
This lovely hotel is down a quiet country road 1/2 a mile from the cove and near to several other pubs and cafes.
The building is very old and reached over an old stone bridge or the beck (stream)
Parking is available and the room was nicely furnished with views of the water and a very comfy bed.
The hotel and attached restaurant is completely plant based. I somehow missed this fact when booking but I needn’t have worried.
The dinner...
"Cold welcome from a blonde lady at reception who asked ‘can I help you’ when I walked in with my walking gear on. Perhaps she thought I was not good enough to stay there but compared to other stays this was unwelcoming! A smile and a welcome wouldn’t go amiss!
Other than that The rest of the staff were lovely.
The place is pretty and beautifully decorated for Christmas. It’s a lovely hotel.
Breakfast was cold & didn’t finish it. Partner disappointed with his breakfast also. "

"Stayed in the family room which was great, spacious, more than just one big room and with a huge bathroom ( photos attached ). Nice little touches in the room such as bottled water, biscuits, etc. A bonus that we were able to take our dog. Everything in the hotel was well thought out. Breakfast was good included bacon & sausage sandwiches. We ate in the restaurant that night, all our meals were of a very high standard especially the steak one. The building was full of character, staff lovely and the village was well placed for things to do in the local area besides being very pretty and quaint. Ideal spot for hiking/ walking. Would highly recommend. "
