"The cabin was in a pretty location on the side of a small lake — but the location doesn't match that on VRBO which states it's in La Fortuna town. It's actually several miles out of town, which was a problem for us since we didn't have a rental car and there's no public transport serving the area. "The property and experience were unforgettable. It all started with the most hospitable and helpful host, Emel. He made us feel welcome and even helped us get pizza delivery to the glamping tent. The tent is immaculate and the perfect window to the amazing greens and blues that mark the gorgeous horizon. The bathrooms and showers were flawless and kept you integrated with nature. "We had so much fun here, and it was a wonderful place to come and relax after a day of activities. Very unique cabin, with porch right on the pond. Friendly ducks, dogs, and it was great hearing all of the different bird calls. Very close to restaurants and things, but felt remite and private. Comfortable bed. Only complaint was the small bathroom without much room to put things."

"This house and property were HUGE, with great views of the volcano and surrounding area, and had room for everyone in my large group! It was fun and quirky and just right. The breakfast was spectacular each morning. Patrick was the perfect host and helped us with terrific advice on activities and even made reservations for us. This house is definitely a "do-again!""

"The property is absolutely stunning! There is wildlife galore on the property and you feel like you’re in the middle of the rainforest. "We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castillo. The terrace had an amazing view of Arenal volcano, and we saw so many birds in the backyard. It was amazing to have coffee in morning and watch clouds roll through valley and listen to birdsong. The location is convenient for getting to Fortuna and nearby parks for hiking, but Castillo feels much more quaint and quiet for enjoying peaceful evenings. "This place did not disappoint!!! It was absolutely amazing. The birds were beautiful and we even got to see the resident sloth that lives on the land! Lorenzo found him and made sure to let us know where he was! Also, the pineapple that Lorenzo left for us was devoured by my 3 teenagers is about 30 seconds because it was so sweet!! If you’re looking for a house to stay in, this one is perfect!!! My kids all had their own room and the location was perfect!"
