Wonderful home BUT listing inaccurate and property management (Vacasa) very difficult
- There is no caretaker on site - the small cabin is just a separate fulltime rental and the cabin is <20 yards from the house, just outside of the frame on the right in the lead image of the house on the listing. The property is secluded from neighbors, but the house is not secluded from the cabin - the substantial large front yard and the side gardens are in full view of the cabin.

Other People On Property
Beware that there is a man/woman/dog on property in a "house" about 60' from where you'll be staying. This was not on the description and when i reached out about it, the vacasa/vrbo team played ignorant about it. This needs to be added to the listing so when you bring your pregnant wife and young daughter on a vacation here to get away from everything and have some peace and quiet, you are getting anything but that.

Quiet get-away
We loved our stay at Whispering Creek. The kids enjoyed playing in the yard, in the creek and on the rope swing. We made a wonderful meal in the kitchen and it was stocked with all the necessary tools. We had a very peaceful time. It is rural, but centrally located between Port Townsend and Sequim, which are wonderful places to visit. Other commenters didn’t care for the taller counter tops but my husband and I both loved them. It was great to cook and wash dishes without tiring out our backs leaning over shorter counters.

Beautiful Place in the Woods
We had a wonderful stay at this quaint farmhouse. We loved everything about it especially the babbling brook right behind the deck. It was a peaceful and quiet getaway. It was also very close to all our adventures and activities we experienced while on our trip.

Great location outside of Sequim and near Discovery Bay. Private creek was great, grounds are unique. Decent furnishings and appliances, comfortably slept 4 but any more may be a stretch. Great for dogs

New Years Escape
When we arrived we did get in the back door. We tried and tried the complicated directions for the front door which never worked. It would have been so convenient with our bags and a cooler stock full . When we got in every thing look fine. The bathtub was amazing ! The bathrooms clean. Now when we began to use the kitchen each drawer was dirty unorganized and we had to wash each dish before use. The propane tank didn’t have enough to bbq so we had to run out and get a new one to bbq those steaks & fish for our New Year’s Day dinner. If you sat on the couch you would get a lot of dog hair on your clothing . Thank goodness we aren’t allergic to dander . The rug in the family room was dirty with dog hair and stains. Upon our checkout we were rushing . 10:00 am is early when your on vacation and wanting to relax . Well needless to say I discovered I left my Black Coat upstairs in the bathroom the next day when I left for work. Called Vacasa a very rude woman with a thick accent that was hard to under stand and I did have the information she wanted so I hung up . Called back and got another woman to help . That was January 1st and I paid $27.66 to start the process to find my coat . It’s January 10th and not a call or email about my coat . So so disappointed with this process and our New Years stay !

Lovely Stay
We really enjoyed our time. The old farmhouse was well appointed and charming, and the kids loved exploring the property and swinging on the swings. It was an enjoyable getaway with plenty of things to occupy our time. The only downside was the overly early checkout time, that was purportedly because of COVID, but the day before leaving we were given an option to check out late if we paid extra. Seems a bit opportunistic to me, but I did know about the early checkout time going in.

Sooo comfortable!
Thank you for sharing your home. We had a delightful time and so appreciated the quiet, comfortable feeling of coming home each evening. The house was clean and comfortable. Bigger feel than pictures provide. The grounds were wonderful. We got in late the first night and were a bit spooked. We couldn't get the codes to work and it was so far from anywhere and dark. Then we tried the front door in frustration and it opened. Which was a blessing in the moment but also spooky in a dark unknown house. After a full inspection of closets and dark spaces we settled in and by morning all was forgiven as we viewed the property by day. We were four ladies coming to Port Townsend for an art weekend and spent of our days out and about. The location was a bit out of the way but the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful so well worth the extra driving. We did feel as a suggestion that just a small bit of coffee being available for the first morning would have been a welcome addition.

Great family get-away
The house was very clean up on arrival and smelled like fresh cut lilac, which was placed in various places around the house. Perfect size for our family of 4+dog. My kids loved playing in the yard, the kitchen was we equipped, and the house is surrounded by tress without any close neighbors!

Avoid this rental
This place was not cleaned satisfactorily prior to our arrival. The beautiful deck in the back was gross. Cobwebs in corners. Dead rat on the floor. Repairman entered unit without knocking. Avoid this unit, it’s pretty in pictures but they swept the dirt under the rug I think to take those pictures.

Lovely place, but a couple of issues....
The farmhouse was charming, quiet, relaxing; we loved the back deck and the landscaping. I would have given 5 stars, but we had a couple of issues. The hot water spigot for the kitchen was wonky/broken and fell off while we were there, so we had to transfer hot water from the bathroom to do dishes. It looked like someone had tried to fix it previously. We sent an email to vacasa to let them know but there was no number we could find to get maintenance out before we left. The other thing is the mattress in the main bedroom sagged, and my husband couldn't sleep on it. If a new mattress is purchased, and the spigot fixed, we'd visit again in a heartbeat.

Peaceful setting-charming house
We thought the house was cute and loved the property. A few things could use updating and a better cleaning…the table on the back porch is broken and the handles to nearly every old house plumbing fixture fall off in your hand. Also, really need direction on recycling vs garbage and where to put things. Recycling programs are different by city/state so we just had to guess. Also, rugs could use a cleaning. Lots of pet hair that belonged to a different pet than mine… Other than that, we thought the house was great and charming. Exactly what you’d expect when you stay in an old farm house and the bedding/kitchen/appliances were all clean. Thanks for the stay

Charming old farmhouse and garden
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location is beautiful--just a short drive from Sequim, and accessible to lots of natural areas, such as Olympic Natl Park and Dungeness Wildlife Refuge, but also the house itself is tucked into a lovely spot on the hill amidst a beautiful old orchard and garden with woods nearby. Very private and peaceful. The house has been tastefully restored with lots of wonderful touches, from the extra beautiful windows, old wood floors, and clawfoot tub. We would have liked the kitchen to be cleaner--dishes and pots were greasy and the fridge and microwave did not seem to have been cleaned since the last guests. The kitchen was also very minimally equipped--no wonder dishes were not clean, because sponges and dishtowels to clean with were lacking! We called Vacasa and they brought some of the things we asked for the next day, but it did detract from our experience. If the cleanliness and equipment issue gets fixed this place will be a pure delight.

Lovely spot in Sequim
We so enjoyed our stay here. The check-in and check-out were seamless, the home was comfortable and the location was a perfect jumping off spot for our time on the Olympic Peninsula. I do think the home could use a deep clean to freshen it up a bit. There were a lot of smudges and dirt on the walls, stair railings, and light switches, but it wasn't unclean by any means.

Charming House
This is an old home with charm in a lovely garden. The back porch faces out to trees and a small stream and is quiet and private. The home is about 15 minutes to downtown Sequim and 40 minutes to downtown Port Townsend, in a rural area. We had two seniors with us and the stairs were difficult for them and the toilets unusually low, so this is not a property for visitors with mobility issues. There is zero contact with the host so you won’t get that personal touch. The single bed needs a new mattress (very noisy springs) and the cleanliness upon our arrival wasn’t perfect, but the home has some pretty details, a large kitchen, plenty of space for 4-5 people, and overall we enjoyed our stay.
