A nice place to relax

The flat and the garden look like in the photos. You can go on excursions to the sea as well as to the mountains. Gemma and Andrea are very friendly and considerate hosts. You can always ask them about excursion destinations. And you get great tips for tasty local and ice cream parlours nearby. We felt at home, as if we were visiting friends.

Lovely farmhouse -wonderful owners!

We spent a week in Antico Borgo's maison d'ami with our 2 year old son in autumn 2016. It was just perfect! The garden is beautiful and leaves enough space for privacy. Gemma and Andrea find the perfect balance between always being there with advice and recommendations and leaving their guests enough privacy. Both are great with kids, too. We spent most days at the beach (5-10 min drive away), which was not at all crowded and super-relaxing. There would have been good opportunities for hiking etc and the surrounding towns are certainly worth a visit. We went to Pietrasanta once and liked its athmosphere a lot. Great restaurants, too! Enjoy!

Antico Borgo is an ideal place to get a feel for the Tuscan way of life. This beautiful and charming old farmhouse is well-maintained, well-decorated, clean and comfortable. The secluded spot, among ancient olive groves and fruit trees, is so peaceful and inviting that one could happily spend a relaxing week at the house. But this is also the ideal place to enjoy Versilia sandy beaches, the hills surrounding the farmhouse, the Apuan Alps and several art towns, which are at easy reach from Antico Borgo. We could not have hoped for a more gracious, accommodating and helpful hosts: Gemma and Andrea made sure we felt welcome, were comfortable and had everything we needed. (They also recommended tiny ancient villages out of touristic routes and enchanting view points looking at the sea). We would definitely go back and we give Antico Borgo our highest recommendation. Thank you, Gemma and Andrea!

Heart-warming hosts and an equally lovely home

We had a lovely stay in Antico Borgo. The apartment itself made us feel at home, it was clean and thoughtfully decorated in an unique and antique way that resembled the flair of the Italian countryside. The garden felt loved and well maintained, a little paradise in the backyard (which we unfortunately didn’t use as often as we would have liked – seems like there is yet another reason to come back here :)). Gemma and Andrea were so kind and warm to us, always eager to help and provide tips and advice (wether it was about preventing mosquito bites or finding the best focaccia and gelato or a new destination for our daily trips), so we could experience the best this region has to offer. We are very thankful to have had such great hosts, who obviously care a lot about their guests. We will miss this place and the hospitality that made our summer vacation the best it cold have been. This vacation was truly outstanding and something that we will remember with a smile on our faces and a warm feeling inside. Thank you so much for having us, for your kindness and for making Italy feel like home for two weeks.

Das schön restaurierte historische Haus liegt ruhig im großen gepflegten Garten mit Olivenbäumen. Die Zufahrt zu dem Haus ist etwas schmal, aber gut machbar.Die Wohnung ist sauber und komfortabel, ausgestattet mit antiken Möbel und vielen persönlichen Details. Die Fotos entsprechen der Realität.Die Gastgeber Gemma und Andrea sind sehr nette, hilfsbereite und aufgeschlossene Menschen. Idyllisches Ambiente

Etwa 5 Km vom Meer entfernt, liegt das gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtete Anwesen. Ein großer interessanter Garten, der zum verweilen einlädt, rundet das Ambiente zusätzlich ab. Wir waren 14 Tage da, davon war die erste Woche sehr heiß. Es gibt in den Schlafzimmern eine gut funktionierende Klimaanlage und die Wohnung war auch, dank der Fensterläden, kühl genug. Die Einrichtung ist eine Komposition schöner antiker Möbel, mit vielen tollen Hinguckern. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in diversen Supermärkten sind schnell mit dem Auto erreichbar. Super leckere Pizzerias, das beste Eis der Welt und ein Special Gourmet Restaurant sind fußläufig erreichbar. Man sollte Mückenspray mitnehmen, da es zu unserem Zeitpunkt viele Tigermücken gab. Das Besondere an diesem Urlaub waren definitiv die Gastgeber! Aufgeschlossen, sehr freundlich und fürsorglich wurden wir mit wirklich sehr guten Ausflugszielen versorgt, hatten sehr interessante Gespräche (sehr gut englisch, etwas deutsch) und es gab so manche Köstlichkeit serviert. Ihre vielen hilfreichen Tipps haben uns in so mancher Situation geholfen, vor allem wenn man das erste mal in Italien ist. Der familiäre Umgang war sehr angenehm, wohl dosiert. Wer fernab vom Strandtourismus spannende und fantastische Orte entdecken möchte, abseits vom üblichen Pauschaltourismus, ist hier genau richtig aufgehoben! Wir sagen Dankeschön und geben eine klare Empfehlung ab!

Bella Italia and great hosts

We had a wonderful stay. Gemma and her husband are great hosts and very lovely people. We felt very comfortable and didn't miss anything. The area is really great. On one side the sea with a great sandy beach. On the other side the mountains with a great panorama. But also the cities in the surroundings invite to stroll or to culinary evenings. We can fully recommend it. We have a small tip: you should have anti-mosquito spray in your luggage. The mosquitoes in this area are quite aggressive.

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit einem noch schöneren und vor allem großen Garten. Ideal für Kinder. Die Gastgeber sind superfreundlich, herzlich und aufmerksam. Ein Tipp für Besucher der Cinque Terre-Dörfer: Ich empfehle den Zug vom Bahnhof Forte dei Marmi, der fußläufig erreichbar ist (15 Min) bis Stazione La Spezia Centrale. Dort umsteigen. Mit dem Auto ist es deutlich anstrengender.

Sehr schönes Feriendomizil. Wohnung ist perfekt eingerichtet

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Gemma und Andrea empfangen. Man fühlt sich gleich zu Hause. Auch wurden wir sehr gut mit allen wichtigen Informationen versorgt. Mit tollen Tips für Ausflüge und gutes Essen wurden wir versorgt. Die Ferienwohnung liegt in einem wunderschönen Haus, welches von einem grossen Garten mit Olivenbäumen umgeben ist. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet und nur 5 Autominuten vom Strand (Forte dei Marmi) und von Pietrasanta entfernt. Wir fanden es schön, dass wir uns immer wieder aufs Land zurückziehen konnten und uns trotzdem recht schnell an schönen Städtchen erfreuen konnten. Diese Ferienwohnung ist geeignet zum sich gut erholen zu können. Man kann die Nachtruhe geniessen. Wir können diese Ferienwohnung nur weiterempfehlen. Wir konnten unsere Ferien wunderbar geniessen. Beautiful old farmhouse with the kindliest owners

We, a family with three children aged 18, 16 and 13, had a great holiday in appartement Alpi Apuane. It is decorated with love and you will find very beautiful furniture, tableware etcetera that makes you feel welcome. All you need for a nice holiday is available. The farmhouse has a large beautiful garden with a lot of different corners with chairs so there is enough privacy. There is a great patio were we had breakfast and diner every day. The location is perfect, near the beach and the beautiful mountains were we spent al lot of time. You can also visit Florence, Lucca and Pisa which is certainly recommendable. At last we want to mention the special owners, Gemma and Andrea. We never met such nice hosts before! They are so dedicated and do everything to feel you at home. Gemma speeks English very well and she gave us a lot of good tips to go to, reastaurants, beautiful old villages, spectaculair nature, to much to mention. We want to thank Gemma and Andrea very much for taking so much effort. We hope to meet them and visit Antigo Borgo again.

Great vacation again!

We (a couple from Germany) stayed at this very lovely house (Tra Gli Olivi) for the second time. At the arrival, it was like coming home. It was a great pleasure to see Gemma and Andrea again. They are really dedicated and friendly hosts and made our second stay at their house a wonderful experience again. Although we had already seen many locations in the area at our first visit, Gemma and Andrea still had plenty of valuable ideas where to go (at sunny weather as well as at rainy weather), what to see and what to eat. Thanks to Gemma and Andrea, we have had some splendid days in Tuscany again. Our first visit was in late spring / early summer. This time we came at the end of summer / beginning of autumn. Thus, we could enjoy the house and its surroundings in a different season. All the olive trees in the garden now had little olives. That was really fascinating. The house was in good shape and everything was clean. The house is equipped with everything you need. In one sentence: we enjoyed our stay so much that we will definitely come back a third time!

Моя семья и я провели замечательную неделю в древней деревне Antico Borgo. Это была фантастическая квартира в чудесном месте, в самом сердце Версилии. В нескольких километрах находились великолепные пляжи Форте дей Марми. Нашему взору представлялись неповторимые Апуанские Альпы, до которых можно было добраться за короткое время и наслаждаться их невероятными панорамами. Квартира была с прекрасным дизайном, декорирована со вкусом, достаточно солнечная и очень располагающая, с огромной ванной комнатой. Именно такая была необходима для нашей большой семье. Из всех квартир в которых мы отдыхали во время наших многочисленных путешествий в Италию, эта квартира была самая комфортабельная и та , в которой я не нашла дефекты. Сад окружающий старинный дом располагал к спокойствию и миру, там было приятно прочитать книгу или выпить бокал хорошего вина... возможно и в компании владельцев Джеммы и Андреа. Эта очень почтительная пара, они вежливы и радушны, располагающие к общению, готовые всегда оказать услугу. С первых минут нашей встречи они дали нам почувствовать себя как дома. Во время нашего пребывания мы посетили Лукку, Пизу, Флоренцию, Ле Чинкуе терре, Ле Каве ди Каррара, Сиену и Сан Джиминьяно. Дом в котором мы проживали находился в центральном положении от всех городов и интересных мест , что мы посетили. Но чаще всего мы посещали Пьетрасанту, это городок, который располагает к приятной атмосфере и интимности. Даже ближайшие поселения на холмах заслуживали нашего посещения. Пляжи Форте дей Марми хорошо организованны, безмятежны и безопасны для детей. Поблизости много феерических ресторанов с разнообразной кухней и доступной ценной. Некоторые вечера мы просили Джемму заказать для нас столик в одном из ресторанов, но трудно было отказаться от возможности поужинать "дома", потому что из окон нашей квартиры мы могли наслаждаться прекрасными закатами и спокойствием большого сада. Я очень счастлива,что мне удалось найти эту фантастическую квартиру и надеюсь обязательно вернуться в Италию, в наш сказочный уголок. Еще раз спасибо владельцам Джемме и Андреа за их гостеприимство и за бутылку хорошего тосканского вина, как презент в день прибытия. А.П. Август 2017

A beautiful place, and the friendliest hosts!

We (two parents in their 30’s and three kids between 4 and 9 years; from Germany) absolutely love this place! It’s our very first time, that we went to the same place a second time, just the next year... normally we like to check out new places, but Gemma’s and Andrea’s house is just perfect! The nearby sea is great, people and landscape are beautiful, there’s a lot of stuff to do and discover ... and the weather was fantastic (same as the year before). Gemma’s home is very tasteful decorated, and it’s a pleasure how free and comfortable one feels at her place. The hosts are caring, always helping you with all of your questions. The town is also very nice, and if you enjoy shopping or just strolling around high class shops, you are definitely at the right place... We couldn’t endorse this place even more! You will – as we did – fall in love with it! :)

Till next time!

This year we came back to Antico Borgo like home. And it was the first time in our family‘s travel history than we have stayed in the same place, in the same apartment for the second time. It was worth of it. And this is thanks to the excellent hosts. Gemma, Andrea and Metteo are very warm and careful, hospitable people. We have some nice evenings together! The flat is nice and comfortable and per year had some improvements! After long day of traveling the view through the windows to garden and mountains always gave a calm and a pleasure to the eyes. Versillia, Tuscany and its surroundings have so much interesting, worth seeing places. This year we’ve visited quite new places and had nice impressions. Gemma and Andrea, thank you for coziness and care! Dear friends, good luck!!!

Super!

Schon wenn man auf das Domizil zufährt, ahnt man: Das wird ein ganz besonderer Urlaub! Das Haus ist von außen beeindruckend und innen sehr großzügig und unglaublich liebevoll-mit viel Sinn für das Besondere-eingerichtet. Und dabei sehr zweckmäßig! Und dann der Ausblick, wenn die Fensterladen geöffnet werden.... ! Der Garten ist für alle Liebhaber der Natur schon für sich ein Erlebnis und Gemma hat uns immer ermutigt, diesen auch zu nutzen. Die Vermieter sind unglaublich herzlich, immer mit Rat zur Stelle und man hat das Gefühl, diese Familie schon lange zu kennen. Wir haben unseren Urlaub vom ersten Tag an sehr genossen und kommen ganz bestimmt wieder!!

Great holiday at Alpi Apuane

The appartment Alpi Apuane is very comfortable and well equipped. It has a nice view towards the mountains and the garden. It is situated perfectly to visit the touristic sights such as Pisa, Lucca, Pietrasanta, the caves Grotta des Vento and Antro del Corchia as well as the mountains, Castiglione di Garfagnana, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Barga and many more. We loved staying here. Gemma and Andrea welcome their guests very warmly and have lots of ideas where to go to. Over all we had a very nice holiday at Alpi Apuane :-)
