Welcome to A Sweet Retreat! And what a retreat it is indeed! Touching The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, our adorable 2 BD cabin (sleeps 6) is the ideal headquarters for your romantic get-a-way or family vacation. With spacious rooms, a hot tub, wood-burning fireplace, and national park views, you will never want to leave. The location is also ideal - just a short drive from all the action of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but far enough away to feel the serenity of the Smokies!

Located just outside of town on the edge of Wears Valley, A Sweet Retreat is a short 10-15 minute drive to all the restaurants, entertainment and action of Pigeon Forge, but still far enough away to actually FEEL the comforting call of the mountains. And talk about mountains! The Great Smoky Mountains National Park lies literally in the back yard, jutting up majestically from the back porch (and private hot tub). And from the front porch, you can gaze through the trees and into Wears Valley in the distance.

Smoky Mountain Retreat
Lovely log home backing onto the National park. We loved the location. The house was beautiful & had almost everything we needed. The hot tub was especially nice after a day of hiking. My only recommendation would be that if you want a fire, pick up wood, kindling & paper in town. We didn’t realize that would not be provided for at least the first night, and it was too late to find it. Coming from Alberta, we stay in the Rocky Mountains quite a bit & have always had wood provided. Other than that, I would highly recommend it.

Two of us stayed for a short business trip (4 days) and this house was situated almost equally between pigeon forge and gatlinburg yet away from the bustle and in the foothills. House was clean and cute and provided all the starter items we needed. Any issues/communications we had were addressed immediately. Would stay again!

Nice
The cabin was nice and clean. When I tried to wash clothes I had trouble. We loss water to the cabin for several hours and were told it was the well and we would get the water back after awhile. I was worried about losing water again so didn’t wash clothes brought dirty clothes home. The water did come back and we never had problem again. Would have been nice to have more start up products make sure you bring soap!

Overall experience
The property and location were great. The towns and roads in the area were at best 2 stars! Because of some sort of car rally or show the area and roads were overrun with poor man’s Grand Prix cars and drivers. A temporary issue but enough that we are not likely to return.

September getaway
Clean, comfortable and quiet. We were very happy with the location away from the busyness of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, but still close to the national park. It was a quick drive into Wears Valley where we found some great restaurants.

A sweet retreat for the family indeed!
This lodge is perfect for a family or friends retreat, or even a honeymoon for couples. Each morning you will wake up to a chorus of birds tweeting in the woods. Opening the curtains, rays of sunshine paint everything in the wood in lively, splendid colors. Open your door and sit by the front porch with a cup of joe, you will have the chance to observe some black bears wondering around. We are honored to have bears visiting each morning and evening. Don’t worry, there are a few other houses around and you are not on their diet. The house is located right by the national park and close to several trials of different levels of difficulty. The house is meticulously decorated to provide the vibe of “living in the woods.” Pack your favorite foods for the duration of the stay and enjoy!

Perfect cabin for 2 couples!
Wonderful place! Each couple had their own bathroom off the bedroom. Kitchen was well equipped The beds slept well. We were there to see fireflies in Elkmont, and this location was only 15 minutes from there. Best surprise was mother bear and 2 cubs in back porch one morning. Would definitely go back.

Three night retreat.
My sister and I stayed here for three nights, at the end of our vacation, just to relax. It was perfect to just enjoy the mountains from both porches and the hot tub. We had a bear sighting which thrilled is. The cabin is beautiful and very clean.

Peaceful way to enjoy the Smokies
The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood on a cul de sac at the top of a fairly steep road. It is a good escape from the excitement of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, but still fairly convenient (~25 min) to get into town and very close to one of the park entrance's. The cabin was clean and nicely equipped and the property manager was communicative and friendly.

We arrived at 7:00pm, The cabin was gorgeous, clean, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed! However we gave a 2 star rating for our experience during our stay. After unpacking we went to use the toilet to find the bowl full to the rim and several inches of water in the tub. We plunged the toilet only to have sewage come up into the tub. The entire house septic system was clogged including both toilets and all sinks. It took some time to reach the host. They offered to try and find another property to move us to (which was unlikely). Due to the late hour and already being unpacked we decided to stay hoping it could be fixed in the morning. We had to use the woods in back for a bathroom that night and next morning. I heard nothing the next day until I texted them but the septic was finally opened at 3:30pm. On our 3rd night we came back from biking to find no hot water. They came the next day again in the afternoon and replaced the water heater. We paid a premium price per night for a house with no working septic for 1 night and no hot water for a 2nd night. No refund was offered. After reaching out 3 times asking for a refund we finally got a small portion of 1 nights stay and told it was the max allowed. We feel we should have been refunded for 1 full night and would have been satisfied and given a 5 star review regardless of the 2 night disruption. Even a Motel 6 gives you working septic and hot water. PS: We have yet to receive the refund 2 weeks later!

Perfect for Us
We are a small group of middle-aged college friends meeting up for a weekend of catching up with each other. This place was perfect for us. It was cozy and clean and had everything we needed. Justin was super easy to get ahold of and very welcoming. We decided that if we meet up in TN again next year we'd be glad to stay here again.
