Blue-Door
A beautiful property for those looking to explore Seward and the Kenai Fjords National Park. The Blue Door A-Frame was perfect for our party of 6. And the bathroom……..absolutely AMAZING! The owners of Salted Roots also own the Flamingo Lounge in Seward. By far the best Halibut during our 2 week stay in Alaska. We highly recommend this property and hope to return some day.

Lovely cabin, attentive owners
Generally, we had a great stay, and this was a decent base of operations for the Seward area. The cabin is fairly well-appointed, and a nice size for a family of four. The owners were helpful and quick with some small issues that did arise. I would add that this area south of Seward is busier than expected, and there was more car traffic on the Beach Road than expected. It is a nice cabin, but the activity in the area prevents it from being an oasis of calm.

Perfection
This property did not disappoint. It was the absolute perfect home to rent while exploring Seward and Kenai-Fjords. The home is a perfect retreat in the woods with views of mountains. Also, just across the street is access to the bay, a lovely seating area for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds. There is a wood fired sauna and fire pit the family enjoyed. The house fit our family of 5 very well. That bathroom was a luxury every day. The best part of our entire trip! Thank you for sharing this home with us. We hope to return someday!

What a lovely property!! We really enjoyed our stay and would go back tomorrow. The area around the home is trying to revitalize- and we always felt safe. The views are AMAZING from the Blue Door which we felt was the best of the cabins. Matt the owner has also opened the Flamingo Lounge in town and it was our favorite meal along with Ray's on the Water. Trust me - go there first - you will love the food and drinks!!! They were the BEST hosts!!!!!

Beautiful accommodations!
Seward was our longest stay (4 nights) on our trip to Alaska and so glad it was in this beautiful blue door A-frame. We loved everything about it!! Clean, comfortable, simple and stylish. Enjoyed running into and talking to Matt about the property and getting some suggestions for that days drive to Kenai. Hope to stay here again in the future!

Beautiful comfortable classy and natural
Can a place be both modern and rustic at the same time? =) This is such a cool property, amazing view from inside and out, all the comforts you hope for when away from home - great sleeping space, pellet stove was unique, electric kettle for coffee and on-demand hot water in the shower. (Awesome.) This place is great. The only downside is we could only book for 3 nights b/c it was already reserved - I think we would have loved to be here 5 or more. Easily accessible to trails and downtown Seward. You’ll arrive most likely from Seward and the 2 mile road is gravel/dirt. Circle past the campground and RV area and the houses are tucked back in the trees. There are 2 new cottages that are in front but to the outsides of the blue & red door cabins. We stayed in the blue door and loved sitting out on the porch for hours after dinner and watching the mountains and water, eagles, etc. Highly recommend and hope we can stay here again.

Summer Vacation
I am so in love with the Red Door A Frame house we had for a week. I can't say enough about how fantastic it was for myself (42) and my two children ages 16 and 13. You can fish on the beach out front, have beach bonfires or a bonfire in the tall pines. After a long day of hiking or fishing going back to shower while preparing meals was absolutely amazing. The tub was used by all of us to relax those stiff muscles. I would like to go back annual. Fantastic location!

Great Alaskan Experience!
This house was awesome! We loved the views of the bay with the mountains on the other side. The sauna and firepit were used often. The shower was amazing. The overall style of the house was so unique. It was the perfect combination of outdoorsy and comfortable with several upscale touches. I have stayed in many VRBO homes. This is the first one where every bed in the house was comfortable. This unit worked out perfect because my family of 5 was in one unit and the family we travelled with (family of 6) was in the other unit. I highly recommend the blue and red cabins!

Great family getaway
We loved our stay at Salted Roots. The location is just far enough away from Seward that it is more relaxed and quiet. The house was amazing. Lots of attention to detail. Plenty of room to sleep and spread out during the day. Our kids LOVED walking across the road to the beach and played there for hours. The view out the front was breathtaking. The woods behind the property are magical. Communication with hosts was great. I think our only complaint would be that the kitchen was lacking a few simple amenities like a toaster and measuring cups. That didn’t stop us from having an amazing stay. We would definitely stay here again!!

Don’t miss this place!
I would actually like to keep this little piece of heaven to myself but it’s only fair to share. This house is exactly as pictured on the site and it is BEAUTIFUL! I thought we were the first guests that stayed there because everything was so fresh and new. The living room. Very comfortable sofa and chairs. More than enough space for the four adults that were in my party. There is no television in the house - that was amazing! We were truly able to unplug. The kitchen. It is perfect! Every utensil and pan that we needed was there. The fridge is perfect and just the right size for our 5 day stay. The stove and oven worked great. I loved the farmhouse sink. The dishes are nice and the setup is great in the space. Hint: we needed measuring cups for a recipe - the measurements are on the drinking glasses! The master bedroom. The bed is HUGE, it is at minimum a California king bed, maybe bigger. It feels like sleeping on a cloud. The bedroom is a nice size and has nightstands on both sides of the bed. There is no closet in the bedroom but there is plenty of drawer space to put away clothes. The stairs are sturdy and look very nice in the house. The upstairs bedroom is spacious with 2 twin beds. My family members had zero complaints about the beds upstairs. The bathroom. Where do I start? The floor is heated. There are dual showers And the shower area is HUGE! The bathtub is deep and so relaxing. The candle in the bathroom smells luxurious. The bathroom vanity has 2 sinks for optimal use and there are plenty of plugs for hair equipment. There is a separate small room with the toilet in it, perfect for privacy. Outside there is a fire pit that we used a couple times to roast marshmallows and relax. There is a bald eagle that lives in one of the trees in the yard and it was constantly flying through the area. Beautiful to see. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the house and meeting Kelly Ann and Matt. They are generous hosts that are welcoming but not intrusive and will give you tips if you ask them. We just loved the entire atmosphere and if we get the opportunity to visit again we will definitely stay in this house. Oh, I forgot the beach! It is visible from the house and a small walk directly in front of the house to get there. The view is mesmerizing ! Resurrection Bay is an unforgettable site.
