The appartment was very comfortable and clean, though it was smaller than we expected. That said, it was everything we needed for a restful stay in a beautiful part of Alsace.

Fabulous stay
Lovely gîte , well equipped and maintained. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The gîte is located in the small village of Sewen. You can walk to lake Sewen from the back of the garden, which is gorgeous. Lots of walking / hiking to be done nearby, or sightseeing. We also spotted a beaver in the river at the bottom of the property which was special. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing stay.

Perfect romantic hideaway
Lovely gîte in a picturesque, peaceful wooded setting. You could spend a week just doing the well-marked walks in the local valley with splendid views (the route past the lake up to the reservoir was a favourite) and the cycle path on the disused railway line is safe and easy. There's plenty of interest locally and the main tourist attractions of Alsace are within easy reach. The gîte is comfortable, has everything you need and the owners are friendly and helpful. Très beau gîte dans un cadre boisé, pittoresque et paisible. On pourrait passer une semaine entière à faire les promenades bien balisées dans la vallée locale avec ses belvédères splendides (la route en passant par le lac jusqu'au barrage est à ne pas manquer) et on peut utiliser le piste cyclable accessible sur l'ancienne voie de chemin de fer en toute sécurité. Il y a plein de choses à visiter dans les environs et les sites touristiques plus connus de la région ne sont pas loin. Le gîte est confortable, a tout ce qu'il faut et les propriétaires sont accueillants et gentils.

Beautiful place, great hosts
We had a short but pleasant stay in Sewen. Marie-Helen and her family were great hosts. The area is beautiful with great hiking trails. The town and towns surrounding Sewen are all small and quaint. Narrow roads, small bakeries, and a church at the center of each. We loved our time here.

Perfekter Aufenthalt in idyllischer Lage - Absolut empfehlenswert!
Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Ferienwohnung sehr genossen! Die Wohnung war genau wie beschrieben: sauber, gut ausgestattet und es fehlte an nichts. Handtücher, Bettwäsche, Putzmittel und Seife waren vorhanden. Die Küche war hervorragend ausgestattet, sogar mit Kapseln für die Nespresso-Kaffeemaschine. Wir waren mit unserem Hund dort und die Lage der Wohnung war optimal für uns. Empfehlenswert ist eine Wanderung zum nah gelegenen Stausee und den Wasserfällen. Im Haus gibt es zudem einen kleinen Laden, in dem z.B. Honig und Marmelade aus eigener Produktion der Vermieterin verkauft werden – ein tolles Extra! Die Vermieter waren äußerst nett und der Empfang war freundlich und unkompliziert. Besonders dankbar waren wir dafür, dass wir unseren Aufenthalt aufgrund einer Krankheit problemlos verschieben konnten. Insgesamt ein perfekter Aufenthalt. Vielen Dank an Marie-Hélène und Yannick für diesen schönen Urlaub.

A cozy little Gîte near Ballon d'Alsace
The Gîte has all accomodations you need. I would recommend it for 2 persons, but it could sleep 4. The owners are very friendly and helpful - and Marie-Helène has a little shop that sells local honey. The landscape is beautiful. I had a very relaxing and inspiring stay.

Accueil très agréable, séjour confortable. Nous avons pu découvrir la région comme nous le souhaitions. Randonnées, immersion dans la nature, fermes-auberges nombreuses autour du gîte. Nous sommes reparties avec du miel de la production de notre hôtesse. Nous reviendrions avec plaisir.

Agréable séjour au gîte des castors
Au gîte des Castors il y a tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un très agréable séjour. Le gîte est très propre, très confortable et accueillant. Marie- Hélène est une hôte très attentive et aimable. La région permet de faire des belles balades. Ça a été une belle découverte pour nous !

Gemütliche kleine Maisonette-Wohnung. Wir - Eltern und eine Teenagertochter - haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Zu beachten, dass der obere Raum ganz offen ist - ohne Tür. Wanderwege vor der Tür, Ronchamps und Belfort unweit, wunderbarer Markttag in Mulhouse. Netter und unkomplizierter Kontakt mit den Vermietern, die im Haus wohnen. Einzig die Lesebeleuchtung an den Betten war uns zu dunkel. Gerne wieder.
