Cabin was great for family
The cabin could be so much for with some needed updates and finished repairs. The kitchen needs many things. The ample amount of silverware and drinkware. A minimum amount of pantry such as foil, saran wrap, napkins etc. It would have been nice to have just basic cleaning supplies to tidy up during our stay. The garage has a horrible smell and it caused the bottom floor to smell as well. Smells like cat urine or litter box. Some new pillows or blankets for the home and area rug would add to some comfort. We needed assistance to get into the cabin and had to use the keys from the lock box to get in. Shaver is a great place to visit and we have been renting places for years. Disappointed in the amenities this trip.

Stayed here with my husband and family. House was in a nice location, not far from the lake. The layout of the house was great and I loved that each bedroom had an attached bathroom. Other than that, the cabin wasn’t great. One of the amenities listed in the site was internet service. We had no internet the entire stay, so we couldn’t watch any tv or work from laptops. When we called customer service, they were unhelpful to say the least and honestly a bit rude. They sent someone to the house to try and resolve the internet issue (unannounced) and he wasn’t able to do anything. One of the toilets was also clogged the majority of our stay. The listing picture showed a fireplace in the living room but when we tried to turn it on, the fuse would spark. So no fire either. We made the best of our stay, but it was nothing special, and very irritating that we had to contact customer support to many times in our vacation. Would not rent again!

The property overall was great. The enclosed deck made it easy to take my dog out in the middle of the night. The only complaint was the heating. I don't know if the timer was set incorrectly but we froze in the middle of the night even with attempting to adjust the thermostat.

Neighborhood and house layout was great and as expected. Overall experience was ok, but many issues with things not working: no warm water or Wi-Fi first night; pellet stove never worked; one shower had major leak entire stay; lament floors were very dirty.

Annual Hunting Trip
We usually spend a week at an RV park at Wishon Reservoir, however, I was having issues with my truck and could not pull my RV and had to make short notice plan changes. This home was a great alternative. It was a little further away from the places we like to hunt, but, the home was nice and in a beautiful area. It had all the amenities we needed and plenty of room for my family. There was an issue with the WiFi when we arrived, I called the help number and less than an hour after I called a service person arrived and fixed the issue in just a few minutes. The location is great for recreation of all types, the lake is just a few minutes away, hunting and fishing are very close and for skiers, Sierra Summit and China Peak are not far. There are a number of good restaurants very close.

spacious cabin with great deck
Overall a very nice cabin in a great location . Kitchen was well stocked but bring things like foil, napkins and extra papertowels. Great deck and barbeque. The floors are very slippery including the stairs. Also stairs to front door and deck are steep and deck is high with space in rails for a toddler or small dog to slip through and fall. It was nice they were dog friendly and the place did not smell like previous pets! If someone in your party has mobility issues or if you have a wild toddler this may not work for you. We never were able to connect with wifi, but we had a hotspot so it was fine.

Dirty and Gross, wasted my money
Arrived at midnight on Thursday night. Door knob from garage to house came off in my hand. Could not lock door. Unloaded food …kitchen was dirty. Crumbs on floor etc. went to bed. Had a 3 hour drive so we just crawled into bed. On Friday morning we called the property manager and she sent over 2 cleaning ladies. They cleaned the house, mopped floors dusted etc. it was bad. Mind you I wasted my entire day Friday with the cleaning people. I could have gone out in my kayak, but no. The cleaning ladies did give me 15 extra bath towels., so I could spread them out on the upstairs bathroom floor when I showered. The showerhead was broken and water flew out over top of the doors and sprayed water all over the bathroom. A maintenance person did not exist and I went the whole weekend sopping up the bathroom floor. Then, when you thought things couldn’t be worse…..it got worse. My sister, her husband and their kids (one 4 years old and the other 1 1/2 ) arrived. My sister went to put the kids down for a nap after their 3 hour drive. . The sheets were dirty. All 6 beds downstairs had dirty sheets. I went to check the bed upstairs, where I slept the night before, DIRTY SHEETS. I slept in someone else’s dirty sheets. We called the property management and they were going to send over clean sheets(I guess they wanted us to make the beds). Guess what? Nobody brought clean sheets. Things now went from really bad to extra really bad. One shower downstairs did not even work. Not a drop of water. The other downstairs shower had hardly any pressure and to go along with that…luke warm water. We were on the phone with the property management people and I guess they really didn’t care. No clean sheets, broken door knob (which of course had to be downstairs where the kids and their parents were). My sister was not happy that the door did not lock, safety issue. The weekend sucked. It really was disappointing. I wasted all of Friday, and my money. They did offer to move us to another residence. However we had already unpacked. You know how much stuff gets dragged along on a trip when you have little kids? We didn’t move because we would have wasted more hours packing up and unpacking again. But guess what ? They waived our cleaning fee. Whoop woo! They acted like it was the biggest gift ever. Sad because it was my first time using VRBO and I will never use it again. Summary: wasted my money and money. Crappy weekend

Great cabin!
Everything was nice and clean when we got there and check in was super easy, also its only a 5min drive from town so if u need anything u can always make that short drive, communication was great, had no complaints 5 stars all the way

This house has great floor plan. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. It would be great if we could of used pellet stove. There was 1 oz of shampoo and conditioner for 3 bathrooms. No bath soap or blow dryer. They furnished 1 garbage bag. The house was clean but not organized. I would of never thought to look under bar for toddler games.

Love the space and coziness of the house. The extra boxed and canned groceries saved us because all nearby markets were closed by the time of our arrival. Cleanliness could be improved; some linens appeared to be unwashed, rugs, especially the one in the upstairs bathroom by the sink, were dirty/filthy, lights were not working in one of the downstairs bathrooms as well as the driveway. A bigger water heater would also be great - we had to spread out showers because we would run out of hot water fairly quickly.

The house was perfect! It is among tall pine trees with a well equipped kitchen and large back deck. There is plenty to do in the area as well on the lake and within an easy drive.

Good location, decent cabin
We thought this property was a great place to stay while we went snowboarding at China Peak. Location was great, and made it even more special with loads of snow around the property. We were very disappointed to find a sign on the fireplace saying “please do not use”. This was a huge reason why we booked this property, with the cold days and snow outside only made sense that we put a fire on. If I had known the fireplace was not working I would not have booked this property. Beds were comfy and we loved the large showers downstairs. The trash can in the kitchen was filthy with past renters food mess around the lid, I found some Clorox wipes and had to clean it myself. On closer inspection of the kitchen I could see that counters and cabinets had not been cleaned well, so had to clean those too. It was a great location and we liked the cabin, just wished that it was cleaner and was notified the fireplace was out of use.

Great place, enough of a slope for little kid sledding. Cozy house, well equipped kitchen, and clean. The pellet stove didn’t work so no warm cozy fire. Checked the bbq because of over reviews. Still messy. Brought extra kitchen towels because of other reviews, was glad I did.

Nice house - nonexistent service
The house itself, neighborhood and location was great. Plenty of room for the family, quiet, peaceful and minutes from the lake. Only complaint about the house is the hot water. Only one shower at a time. The service we received from the owner/property manager (Vacasa) was terrible though. The house appeared clean when we arrived but once we noticed one thing the dominoes started falling. Rather than getting into everything here is a list... - Found old Cheetos on the living room rug - Cheeto and mustard? stains on the couches - Stains on all of the comforters - Back deck had pieces of old food and bottle caps on it - BBQ grill covered in burnt cheese and onions - Empty propane tank We ended up spending our first night tracking down and buying our own propane and cleaning. It was quite obvious there was no effort put into cleaning so we even felt the need to launder all of the bedding and linens before we used them. We attempted to call Vacasa on multiple occasions but both numbers we were given went the same recorded message. Waited on hold for over 20 minutes each time and no way to leave a message. Our only other option for communication was email. We have yet to hear back from them. Our trip ended two days ago. We are only one experience but personally I would not recommend renting any properties from Vacasa let alone this one. We decided to make due with our situation and still had a few good days out at the lake, however this type of service, or lack there of, could certainly ruin a trip.
