This is an ideal property for a family gathering. We had the adjacent barn too which was ideal for the 15 of us.

Weekend away with friends
Ryton grange is a really beautiful old property. Yet I was surprised how big, well equipped and well laid out it is for large groups. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

5 days in January
We had a wonderful time. We were working hard during the afternoon and evening in and around the west midlands. It was a joy to get back to the house and have a drink and a chat around the fire. Nice walks in he morning before setting off. One small thing if I may say is that the mattresses on the beds could have been a bit firmer for our liking. We did get some sleep though and would definitely return to the property again.

Great weekend away for family birthday!
We had a lovely time at Ryton Grange - the house and barn provided great accommodation for 11 adults, 2 teens and 2 babies. The location is great for exploring the local towns / countryside. Would recommend to others! Thanks!

Great place for a family holiday
We were 12 of us aged from 19 to 88 years. We really liked the big dining kitchen to eat in. We enjoyed using the barn in the evenings to sit round or play board games round the table. It was great having it as an extra large sitting room to use. The garden was beautiful. We enjoyed table tennis and badminton too.

Delightful property, ideal for family gatherings
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your house. We mainly used the main house but found the fridge in the cottage useful. Very warm and well equipped. The long table in the open plan kitchen / dining room worked very well. Having a separate place for sleeping away from those who wanted to stay up late was also a bonus. Plenty of cutlery and crockery and a well equipped kitchen. Very happy to recommend. Thank you.

A comfortable stay in a characterful property.
Stayed in this property as a base for the Shrewsbury festival and then explored area for rest of week. Well equipped property with comfortable beds and a beautiful garden. The owners provision of tea, coffee, milk and cake was appreciated. Comfortable rooms and useful formation provided. Being an old property it has lots of character but that includes some low beams, sloping floors and some steep stairs so tall people and any one with mobility issues need to be a little bit careful or make use of the downstairs en suite.

Great Family Celebration
Absolutely lovely property. There were 10 of us celebrating my 70th birthday. The property had plenty of space and facilities for us all. The location was great too. Emma the owner made us very welcome by baking a chocolate cake and supplying, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice for us on arrival.

Wonderful house with plenty of room and loads of character
Family get together for 10 adults (5 couples) and 2 children and this house fitted perfectly with enough bathrooms / toilets not to cause an issue.
The house is full of character and history which gave it a really unique feel and added to the memories.
The kitchen and dining area had plenty of cooking space and a nice long table that could seat everyone together.
The lounge area had 3 big sofas around a large square table which meant everyone could sit round without having to bring in "emergency chairs" and the table gave room for snacks, drinks and still had room for playing games / cards etc. The room had a well stocked woodburner which we kept going most of the weekend and added a great extra touch.
The connected snug worked well when anyone / kids wanted a quiet space or to watch tv.
There's a big garden we weren't able to use due to the weather, but we did use the games barn which is literally a converted barn so dusty and draughty, but we had fun playing the games in there.
Emma came over on the first night to check we were okay and let us know how to contact her, which was good of her. The chocolate cake, milk and orange juice on arrival were a lovely touch as well.
All in all a fantastic stay and would happily recommend.

An excellent, well equipped house with nice period features in a good little village
We had a great time staying at Ryton Grange. The owners made the stay very easy with good directions, a welcome cake & flowers plus simple things like milk and usual consumables in the house when we arrived.
The house itself has nice period features and good sized rooms. The kitchen / dining area is the focus of the house but the two lounges give lots of space to relax. The garden is huge.
The location is good...it's in a small village with a pub and there is a very good shop a mile down the road. Shrewsbury is 10 mins away, as is Church Stretton, where there are some good walks in the shropshire hills.
We very much enjoyed our stay and will come again if we get the chance.

Ryton Grange - the place to revisit.
We were a family of twelve plus one dog staying at Ryton Grange for Christmas. The farmhouse was easy to find and the description on the website of inside certainly was right. Creaky floors and a lovely winding old staircase and low beams. Comfortable bedrooms and a fantastic fully equipped kitchen. The wood burner was a bonus. The bathrooms were very modern and we couldn't fault the cleanliness. There was a yummy chocolate cake waiting for us and flowers in some rooms. Richard popped round to welcome us and when we had a query about the recycling he came on the same day. We would certainly recommend this property to family and friends. We only managed one walk around the village and noticed a few public foot path signs. We had a meal in The Fox, a few minutes down the road, which was cooked well and tasty.

a lovely stay in a beautiful house which has given us lots of happy memories
the house is beautiful and the first impressions were really positive. there were 11 in our party and several people commented that the house looked bigger and nicer in real life compared to the photos. we stayed in October when it was turning chilly but the log fire was a perfect addition to the heating.
house was maintained to a high standard, there was ample cooking basics and the beds were all comfy and smelt really nice. we were all really happy with the house and the location, which was only a short drive from shrewsbury.
overall really happy with our choice to stay here

Wonderful Ryton Grange.
We stayed at Ryton Grange for my sons wedding and had the most perfect stay. The house was full of family and and is the perfect setting for a big gathering. It is beautifully set out and has everything you could possibly ask for. Richard and Emma were amazing and so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We would definitely return there if we are ever in Shropshire again.
Thank you so much Emma , Ryton Grange and the Garden Room are superb.

A lovely property, well looked after and obviously loved!
We were a party of 12, cousins and partners gathering after many years to mark the advent of our elder members turning 60! As each of us arrived we were all struck by the simple beauty of the property and the peaceful feeling we immediately had. We all had our secret worries about "choosing" rooms or being left with the "dud", but should not have feared as they are all excellent and the beds extremely comfortable.
On Friday and Saturday night we did our best to shatter the peace, but it remained in place and as we spilled out into the beautiful garden we all regretted that we could not stay longer, but flights and businesses prevented any of us taking up Emma's lovely offer of a free Sunday night extension to our booking! On Sunday it was proposed that we have a BBQ brunch to use up the leftovers and we were impressed to find a BBQ ready to go with charcoal and lighting fluid, saving me a trip to the local garage!
All in all "Granny Mary's" was the perfect venue for our party and next year when two more of us reach 60 it's been voted that we return for a rematch! Can't recommend it highly enough!

Wonderful property inside and out.
The house is as beautiful as it looks in the photos and the rambling garden is excellent for hide and seek. We booked the house for a family reunion and it was ideal for all age groups from babies and children to grandparents. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable for the adults (except for the odd bumped head on the old beams) and there are toys and play equipment for the children. The colourful crocheted blankets on all the beds are a lovely feature and the home baked chocolate cake on arrival was much appreciated.

Clean, spacious and friendly
11 ladies recently had a lovely time, the house was big enough for us to spread out, all facilities provided were great quality, the bedding was fresh and clean, the garden was stunning. The owners were attentive with questions about the area. The neighbourhood was welcoming. Taxi into Shrewsbury was only £8.50. Plenty to do in the area, we enjoyed high ropes and some food in the town. Thank you very much X

Beautiful old farmhouse and garden.
We hired the house for my sisters hen party and it was perfect! The whole process from booking to the stay itself went very smoothly. The house itself is full of character and very well presented and the kitchen/diner was great entertaining space and very well equipt. The chocolate cake was amazing too!! Thank you Emma!
