Beautiful
This cabin sits at the summit of the mountain. It is beautiful. It's close to the road, but when you're in the cabin it felt like you were very secluded. It's rustic, but that's what you'd expect of a cabin in the mountains.

Rustic but beautiful
This is more rustic than some would like but it is just as advertised. Beautiful views and easy to get to. Location is great if you want to do the 4x4 trails between Ouray and Silverton. Don't book unless you like to rough it a bit - toilet is like a porta-potty and you will have to go outside to access.

A fantastic view with a semi rustic feel. The drive up valley was worth the Slow winding road.

Beautiful stay.
The initial VRBO listing does not clarify price additions per party member after a certain group size. This initially caught us off guard when we notified them of a larger party size. However, the management team was very understanding and adjusted our payment when a few of our members had to drop out for a family emergency. The property itself is beautiful. You have wonderful views of the mountains and it’s not far tucked off of the main road. So easy to find and access yet we didn’t really hear much traffic or see the road. It has a rustic cabin feel, but with more amenities than other ski huts I’ve stayed in. For a ski hut, it was quite clean. It is up to each reservation group to keep the property clean for the next group arriving. My whole group was super pleased with the stay and hopes to come back another time!

Good get away; property is as advertised
The cabin is as advertised. It is remote and rustic with accessibility to Ouray and Silverton. It sits at nearly 11K feet elevation with spectacular views. The cabin has all the essentials, but depends on solar power for electricity. So you have to have the mindset to be mindful of your power usage, which is perfect for getting away from electronics and spending quality time with friends and family. The beds are comfortable. The outhouse is not a big inconvenience, but make sure your invited guests know that the cabin does not have an inside toilet. Hot water is available for showers. Make sure you bring your own linens and towels. Hot coffee in the morning and star gazing with a hot beverage on the large deck were the best part of our stay.

Cute Cabin
It’s like staying at Uncle Bucks house. It is what it is! You expect it to be cleaner than it is. So when you go plan on cleaning it before you get started and plan on cleaning it while your there. If everyone that stayed there would just clean up after themselves it wouldn’t be bad. But the outhouse and couch covers was enough to make a guy want to leave. But without a doubt the place is beautiful and I’d stay there again during the summer months.

Very secluded
The Addie S was a pleasant surprise! We didn’t realize it was right off the highway, so the occasional road noise wasn’t ideal, but having a 2WD sedan, it made getting to such a beautiful place an option! The only other downside (aside from the outhouse - you get used to it!) is that the cleanliness of the cabin depends on those who stayed before you. It wasn’t the cleanest when we got there, but all cleaning supplies needed were provided so we were able to clean up more once we arrived! The views were phenomenal and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything.. even an indoor toilet! My husband and I highly recommend this stay, especially if you’re looking for a place to disconnect and spend quality time with those you love. There were various games, books and maps around the cabin, which was a nice touch since there’s zero cell reception in the area. The games and books gave us plenty to do in the evenings and the maps came in handy when planning our next-day adventures! Also, I suggest everyone read through the guest book! We read through it the first evening and it was easily my favorite part of our stay! We definitely look forward to staying at the Addie S in the future!

Very Awesome Cabin
Ive always wanted to stay at a cabin on 550 between ouray and silverton, so when i saw this listing i jumped at it. The cabin is awesome, great location near the red mountain mining area. Very spacious and comfortable, great views. If you want to get away from everything this is the place to stay. No cell service, internet or tvs to distract you. Will be back, thanks

The outhouse had no heat or light and is not as nice as the picture on the website portrays.
David is very quick to respond so no issues with him! The views at the cabin wear absolutely gorgeous!!!! The couches were beat down & not comfortable & the cabin appeared to be a hunting cabin, even though that’s not allowed there. We’ve been to porta potties in Austin TX in the summer that didn’t smell as bad as the outhouse. The book on the table had a lot of wonderful reviews so if REALLY rustic & beautiful views are your thing this is definitely your place. From the description on the internet we were expecting a comfy place to relax but it wasn’t comfortable at all! We ended up going into Ouray and staying in a hotel!

Gorgeous location, cozy cabin
The cabin is a bit rustic- perfect for a mountain vacation. There are so many hikes in the area. We loved exploring around the cabin with our kids. Highlights included the creek, a mine, gorgeous wildflowers and porcini mushrooms. The cabin is exactly as advertised. It was August, but it stayed warm with the cool nights even though we didn’t light a fire. We never got sick of the breathtaking view.

Fantastic. Well furnished, lots of non-perishables spices for cooking, great grill. Great views. Really looking forward to going back when there's snow on the ground. Plenty far off the road, and a lot of land to explore.
