Arrived at the hotel, which my grandson described looking like an abandoned hospital. Room overlooked peoples back gardens which were like dumping grounds, their windows looked straight into our room so had to keep curtains shut as there are no blinds or even nets. The bed was described as a double but was actually 2 singles pushed together with a double duvet that didnt fit the bed. The pillows were literally as flat as pancakes, even doubling them over made very little difference. The mattress was just the worst, every spring could be felt, had an awful nights sleep. No side tables, so bedside lamp was over the other side of the room. Bathroom shower was full of limescale so the tile grout was green, the shower tray overfilled and when i took the plastic flow pipe out it was full of someone elses hair. My grandsons room was just as bad and there was urine all under the toilet seat, which i did complain about and it was cleaned straight away.
The positive to this stay is that the staff were lovely, very helpful, and the hotel is cheap, and because it was a very last minute booking on the last weekend before the kids went back to school, and it was pay month for many, everywhere else was booked up. It didnt spoil our 2 night break as it was purely somewhere to sleep, though i felt i needed to be honest in my review.
