"Appartement propre et très bien équipé, mais vraiment retiré, avec toutefois une petite boutique pour l'essentiel le premier jour car arrivée tardive. Appartement très grand, chambres avec 2 lits simples. Nous y sommes restés 3 jours, le premier (vendredi) sens bruit mais les samedi et dimanche les résidents de l'appartement au dessus n'ont cessé de déplacer des meubles, soit ils déménageaient soit ils faisaient des travaux mais c'était insupportable. "My initial Vrbo booking was cancelled 3 days in advance of my arrival. Not much to choose from but this place was available. Pluses - Quick easy communication with booking person. Close to grocery store and restaurant. Easy walk to public transportation. Apartment features all amenities. Ample toilet paper provided. "We stayed in the island lodge. The lodge itself is very nice, only downpoint of the actual lodge is lack of storage space in the kitchen. My biggest complaints about this place were 1. When making the booking it NEVER mentioned that the only way to access your lodge is via a small rowing boat. I kid you not. I was with a family of 5, and none of us had ever rowed a boat a day in our lives. Had i known this upfront i would never have booked this lodge. THIS ROOM IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH...

"About a 20 minute drive from the Amsterdam airport, this is a cute little home in a quaint town in the country. Some restaurants close by but not a whole lot else, which is kind of what we were looking for. The host is nice, knowledgeable about sites and surrounding areas, and helpful with special needs. "We had a house for 10 people for our whole family. The house, park and the surroundings are beautiful and big, the house wasn‘t super clean but it was fine. The furnishing is pretty basic, something to hang up the towels in the bathroom would be nice and you really need to bring everything. But that‘s the only criticism. Indoor playground and pool were a highlight for our kids! We had a beautiful stay!"

"The boat is very basic but is in a great location not far from the centre of old Amsterdam. (Ignore Diemen as the location). It’s very cheap for Amsterdam which makes up for its basic amenities. You can make use of facilities in nearby cafes and the Public library. The surrounding area is just off the tourist route so you get to see how locals live. Cees was a great host, very accessible and happy to help out and give advice."
