Beautiful!
This Lodge is amazing! Everything we wanted and needed and with a great location on the Kenai River. While there are things to do in the area, the place affords you the ability to just stay in if you would prefer with fire pits, hot tub, games, bikes, movies, ping pong, a commercial kitchen, and more.

Absolutely breathtaking
This beautiful lodge is huge and breathtaking. It has ample space, fabulous beds, pillows and everything you could possibly need and more. We have stayed in many vacation homes as we tour the US to bring awareness to human trafficking and this lodge is the most amazing we have ever stayed. Choose this lodge for a fabulous Alaska experience in any season.

Ultimate Fishing lodge on the Kenai
Jenny and her staff at Cusacks offer an amazing experience for everyone. I brought my 10 yr old son and besf friend. I entrusted the staff with my little guy when i waa fishing and they made sure he had fun. The fishing from the lodge and the stretch of water was excellent. We caaught our limits easily each day. My 10 yr old had no issues fishing from their grates. We will definitely come back to Cusacks!! Jenny goes above and beyond to make her lodge a memory of a lifetime.

September to Remember - 5 Night Rental
Five of us stayed at this property for 5 nights in September where we rented the whole estate. Normally, pictures of real estate or vacation rentals easily hide details and expectations are deflated after arrival based on condition or service. Not in this case , in regards to the Property, the owner, and the property manager, the experience was an extreme pleasure which went beyond our expectations. This piece of paradise was simply amazing with ALL the amenities you can imagine. I highly recommend this property as we hope to visit again. A very sincere, "Thank you" to Jenny, Shane, and the others who made this experience very memorable.

Incredible family reunion spot
We had a recent family reunion with 21 people -- ages 80 to 1 years old to celebrate mom's 80th birthday. This was the perfect site. We wanted to go somewhere that none of the family had been -- and Alaska it was. There were enough rooms and beds for all the various family members to sleep (and the beds were wonderful). And bathrooms in each room was very helpful! The views from the house are breathtakingly beautiful. We had fires in the fireplace on the deck and near the river every single night. The kitchen was fabulous for meals for that many people. The walk-in frig and large freezer in the kitchen were so helpful for all the food. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. They even adding a nice surprise toy, age appropriate, for the one year old! She spotting it the moment she walked in the door and played on it the entire stay. The multiple washer/dryer units was also very helpful with 21 people! And, the driveway easily handled the 8 cars we had, and there was room for more! Kody, the fishing guide, was super with such a large group! Although we were too early for salmon catching, we had fun "fishing" vs "catching". He was able to also suggest things to see and do for the young adults. He answered our 101 questions about Alaska and the wilderness. He also helped us cook up the halibut from the charter boat fishing he set-up for some of us in Deep Creek. We also received great ideas on places to see and things to experience from Jenny and Kody. We went down to Homer to fish and explore, Whitter for a boat cruise to see glaciers, and Seward to see Exit Glacier first hand. We also went into historic Kenai for a step back in time (check out the Cabin Park). But we also just kicked back and played games at the house, enjoyed the view and enjoyed our time together. There are many places for various groups to hang out together. And the HUGE DVD collection entertained the kids for more quiet down time. There were many fun moments of family bike trips (bike and helmets provided), and tons of laughter moments as we share watermelon by the river side. There were tons of benches so everyone could sit and enjoy the sites and family time near the river. We were blessed with a few sightings of caribou and moose in the riverside yard, and the street in the front of the house. We also had many visits from bald eagles. It was a treat for all! Bottom line -- mom said she can't wait to come back again!

Work Retreat
This property was perfect for our office work retreat. Plenty of personal space, yet great areas for socializing. The property was clean and well kept. Very impressed with the small touches that made it feel like home...Stocked coffee bar, candy jar, plenty of pillows, throws to snuggle on the couch or on the deck, and anything else you could imagine. On-site manager, Will, was amazing. He was a bonus to our weekend. Very attentive, kind, and personable. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained, although, a little too hot at 104. We were extremely happy with our stay and enjoyed the getaway very much.

Fabulous Kenai River location
17 kids and grandkids stayed at the lodge and had a wonderful time. Caught our limit of sockeye salmon every day, had a day of halibut fishing as well as a rock fish excursion. Loved the walk-in freezer and vacuum packaging amenity. A couple of recommendations— fishing poles and reels are in need of replacement or repair. Having a binder with instructions would have been helpful for the TVs, kitchen amenities, etc…including where to find the garbage disposal switch. It was behind the hanging frying pans. We also bought some “normal” sized utensils, like spatulas and rubber scrapers. Will and Jenny are top notch! Very quick to respond. We couldn’t find fish boxes anywhere and they helped us solve our dilemma. Thanks so much!

Best family vacation ever!
This house was amazing! We had tons of bedrooms for everyone to sleep comfortable and each bedroom had its own bathroom which was a plus. Fully stocked with everything needed for cooking. The rods were supplied and we caught lots of salmon and could process it right at the house. We had campfires, sat in the hot tub and even did a couple excursions while we were in Alaska. This house won’t disappoint you!

Perfect Getaway!!
If you are looking for a beautiful, spacious, rustic, and unique place to spend your time in Alaska, then this place is for you. We spent 2 days in the house and really never left. However, there is a town 2 minutes away with everything you may need. The hospitality of the Cusacks was hands down the best i have experienced. I forgot my wedding ring at the house and it was in a FedEx package at my house the next day. They will go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family.

Great Property
We had a group of 15 friends and family travel to Alaska for a bucket list trip for many in our group. Our stay was wonderful. Great location and amenities. The backyard and river area at this house are AMAZING. A fire pit w/ unlimited wood that we enjoyed every night. A chef’s kitchen - everything you need to entertain. Walk in freezer for fish. We had a great stay. Plenty of room for all of our group.

Perfect Alaska family experience
Cozy, comfortable, clean, high quality cabin/lodge! Loved the private bathrooms in each bedroom. Jenny was very helpful and was there to welcome us and show us around when we arrived. Caught our limit of silver salmon each day from the docks with the provided fishing poles and easily cleaned, vacuum sealed and flash froze the salmon with the equipment Jenny showed us how to use. She even had shipping boxes there for us. If we get a chance to go back to Alaska this is where we’ll stay!

The absolute best experience I have ever had!
My husband and I wanted a true Alaskan wedding, while trying to figure out the best location we kept coming back to wanting the Kenai River to be our back ground. We had always had the best time fishing there. Then we found Cusask’s on the Kenia and fell in love! We had the best experience and our wedding was everything we have dreamt about and more. Jenny was so helpful and communicated with us throughout the whole process. I could not be more grateful. I would highly recommend the lodge to anyone who is wanting to truly experience Alaska and fish on the best River!

Beautiful lodge in a spectacular setting
We rented this lodge last week and it also served as a venue for our son's wedding. The lodge is so comfortable and well equipped. No detail is overlooked. Everything we needed was here and it is absolutely perfect for large groups. We loved sitting out back by the fire in the evenings, fishing in the river or just hanging out in the huge living room. It is also a stunning wedding venue! The ceremony was right down at the water with the Kenai river as a beautiful backdrop and the reception for over 70 people was under a tent in the large back yard. Everything was simply perfect and we can't thank Jenny, Brooke and Shane enough for all they did to make the day so special. Highly, highly recommend this property!

Fantastic stay
This is an amazing gem of a property. Great house, great hosts, great set-up. Highly recommended. Plenty of beds, well maintained and clean. Fishing off of the back dock was awesome. Even in September, just casually fishing after dinner, we caught a few gorgeous silver/Coho salmon.

Best stay, great staff and amazing fishing!!!!!
My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Alaska and staying at the Sprucewood Log Cabin on the Kenai River this summer, it was such an amazing experience. The lodge is located right on the Kenai river, which gave us the opportunity to gather our things and walk right out to the docks for fishing. There were several different docks to fish off of, all of which provided the ABSOLUTE BEST spot for fishing!! The owner and employees were very friendly and did everything the could to make sure we had the best stay possible. The rooms were gorgeously remodeled with marble showers, beautiful handmade log decor and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on!! They handled our bookings and fishing licenses for a halibut charter in Homer and made sure everything was set up and ready to go so our fishing excursion went as smooth as possible. This lodge was everything we hoped for and beyond. We will definitely be staying here again!!!

Best Family Vacation ever!
My Husband and I took our 3 young children ages 3, 4, and 7 to Alaska over the summer and had the most amazing time! We stayed at the Cusack's on the Kenai Lodge and I would definitely stay again. The owner was extremely helpful with all the travel details and getting us there. When we arrived it literally took our breath away the views alone from the lodge are breathtaking of the Kenai river. Then you walk in to this beautifully designed log house and we felt at home with all the amenities that they had for us such as a Large Kitchen with commercial fridge and freezers, wifi, smart tvs but to be honest we didnt watch a minute of tv the whole week we were there the kids played outside on the property and fished off the private docks every day! We also were greeted with s'more baskets for the kids to make by the fire pit which was a huge hit. One thing I have to say the BEDS they were amazing, we travel a lot as a family and the one thing we always miss is a comfy bed well not this time these beds were the best. My husband wanted to Halibut fish with our son while they were there and the owner Jennifer Hedley set up an amazing half day excursion for them! We were able to bring home all the fish we caught not only from the Halibut but also the salmon we caught right off the dock from the lodge they have a commercial sealer for guest use. I would highly recommend making this your next family vacation we plan on making it an annual visit for our family!
