Modern Unit in Country
Pros: The property was very modern and clean. The pictures and locations to everything were accurate on VRBO. Open floor plan. kitchen and appliances were all nice and new. Kitchen was nicely stocked although we were only there for 2 nights so we didn’t use it that much. Check in was easy and I even got in 3 hours early which was nice. nice big back yard with a fire pit for each unit, and washer and dryer. The queen bed was comfortable.
Cons: when I walked in it smelled a little musty but I later realized it was probably because the thermostat wouldn’t work. I called the rental company and they told me that the cooling unit was being shared with the unit next door. He said he would try his best to manually turn this cooler. He asked me for a comfortable temperature and we said 69 or 68. It had been stuck at 72. But he also said they were trying to address this with the owner which made me think there was an issue previously. Luckily it was not hot out when we were there so it naturally went down to about 70 after we got back in the evening. I then called after hours because although it was not hot, the air was still stagnant so they brought us some fans. The fans helped. Others cons: the twin beds in the one room were not comfortable for a 54 year old. They are probably meant for kids. Not enough mirrors and no full length mirror. Poor lighting in bathroom. We could also hear everything in the next unit. Not good sound barriers between units.
