The COVID-19 outbreak has changed how we travel, but it hasn't done away with our eagerness for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to deal with travel's new challenges:

• Before you lock in a flight, see if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by checking government and travel websites.
• When you go through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to lower it briefly for ID purposes. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may be fined and denied entry.
• Instead of handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it straight on the reader yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to remove it from your bag for scanning.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, place items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA agent will need to open your bag for inspection.
