We've put a desk in each bedroom, High speed Comcast Internet (download speed 575 mbps), ensures you'll be able to work, and stream shows and movies on the smart TV. We have a washer/dryer in the unit and supply laundry products, iron and ironing board.

We've also supplied board games and books for adults. There are puzzles, coloring supplies and books, and crossword books in the chest on the bottom shelf below the TV, to help make your down time more enjoyable. Or take advantage of all the fun things the Perry District and Spokane have to offer.

We don't just ALLOW dogs, we LOVE them and go the extra mile to make it a breeze for responsible dog-owners to bring their fur babies. We don't charge extra for your dogs, but have a strict limit of TWO. All we ask is that you notify us of any dogs you will be bringing. Woof!
Enjoy the one-of-a-kind Art House Down with your pups, in the most interesting neighborhood in Spokane!
If you are interested in stays that are longer than 28 days, please make a request, and I will contact you.
ACCESS
Guests have full access to ArtHouse Down inside, except for our locked supply closet. There is a shared front yard and your own fenced back yard. The driveway to the east of the building, the yellow storage building in back, and the back vegetable garden are all private property and not for guest access. We are frequently there working in the garden, and occasionally have small, quiet craft shows when the weather is warm. There are signs on the gates for clarity.
There are outside garbage and recycling cans in the driveway on the east side of the building. I will put them out on the street for collection on Tuesday mornings.
YOUR HOSTS
Hello! We are Lesa Delisi, a recently retired speech teacher for the Spokane Public Schools and artist, and Dennis Thomas, a semi-retired holistic veterinarian with an online practice, “Heart to Heart Holistic Healthcare for Pets”. We live a block from the Art House, and have been in the Perry District for more than 20 years. We have five children and five grandchildren, scattered across WA and TX, and lots of pets! We generally like to have fun and enjoy living in the Pacific NW.
We are Mom & Pop hosts and strive to offer the personal touches that a corporate-owned place can’t. We use the back lot (separate from the Art House yards) quite a bit for gardening and some small craft events in warm weather. Don’t be surprised to see my husband and me working there or raking leaves out front, etc. We are semi-retired and live just around the corner.
We know you value your privacy and will try to stay out of your hair but are available through the platform app, if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to flag us down if you see us. We know all the neighbors and are often out and about socializing with them, or walking our dogs, and we love a good chat!
Also, take advantage of the QR codes in the Guest book inside, or the online Guest book, for information about local attractions and any needs you may have.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Perry District is commonly thought of as the "artistic and eclectic" neighborhood in Spokane. It is in an older part of town, and has all the charm and foibles you'd expect, including older, sometimes broken sidewalks, and a variety of architecture, artists, musicians, bakers, and craftspeople.
There are numerous restaurants, shops, pubs, houses of worship, parks and walking trails right in the Perry District. Book a yoga session, have your hair and nails done, buy a new book, or get a massage all a block from the Art House.
The Perry District is a "walking" neighborhood, full of artists, musicians, and crafts people. The neighborhood has a nice mix of young singles, families, and older folks. We're also known as the area of Spokane with the most diversity.
It is close to Downtown and all the main areas of business, education, entertainment, and medicine. Sacred Heart and Deaconess hospitals are very close. Gonzaga, EWU & WSU Riverpoint Campus, and Whitworth downtown campus are all within 3 miles. There are Spokane Transit Authority buses available within a block, the airport is ~8 miles away, and Amtrak station is ~2 miles away.
GETTING AROUND
The Spokane Transit Authority system has stops a block and a half from the Art House. Spokane International Airport is 8.1 miles away, Amtrak station is 2.1 miles away. There are several taxi services in Spokane, and, of course, Uber. You can often find Lime scooters and bikes parked around the Perry District. Spokane is a bike-friendly city and there is a bike repair shop a block over from the Art House.
HOUSE RULES
*PETS: If you're not bringing a dog, disregard. ❤️ We love dogs and are happy to accommodate 2 dogs for responsible pet owners. Sorry, no cats. Dogs must be on leash when in the FRONT, shared yard, and dog owners are responsible for keeping dogs quiet and cleaning up after them. We don't charge extra for dogs, but you MUST let us know if you plan to bring them, how many, what type, and their names. This is all for safety reasons. We will try to supply dishes for food and water, a portable crate, bed, etc. for your dog, if you request, and will do our best to make you and your pets happy. You MAY NOT bring a dangerous dog, or leave a dog inside or outside who will be barking when left alone. We assume you you know your pet's behavior and will act accordingly.
Check the SPRINKLER SCHEDULE in the guest book, so your dog doesn't get caught outside when they go off.
*QUIET TIME after 9PM Please keep in mind that there may be guests in the other unit and be mindful of noise while inside, outside and leaving and entering the unit.
*No Parties or events. Up to 6 people, total, allowed prior to 9PM without prior consent.
*NO SMOKING OR VAPING in the residence (this means inside or outside in the yards or on decks).
*No dying hair or fabric, no self-tanning products, glitter, confetti, slime, play dough, or silly string.
*Please use the provided “dark” wash clothes for MAKEUP REMOVAL.
*No illegal substances or activities on the premises.
*No unregistered, overnight guests.
*Damages and extraordinary cleaning (exceeding any deposit/fee) and unregistered guest fees ($50 per guest, per night) will be billed to guest and reported to platform through which you rented.
*Checkin 3PM, checkout 10AM
*Parking is on the street (remember to lock your car and remove any valuables from your vehicle). Please don’t park in the driveway. We must leave it open to get our vehicles in and out, as we need access to the back.
*The back vegetable garden area is our private property and not part of the rental. Please keep out of that area.
*Any breaking of the above rules may result in immediate termination of your stay, without refund.
*We trust that you will enjoy yourselves, while treating our place with respect. Please let us know RIGHT AWAY if there are any problems. We are easy to work with, but hate being surprised by accidental damage that's not been reported.
WILDLIFE
Spokane, like many cities, has its share of urban wildlife. Don’t be surprised if you see deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, hawks, and the occasional skunk in the neighborhood. We try to coexist with them and enjoy their presence when they appear. As with all wildlife, if you encounter them, "look but don't touch".
