(Q1/24) I just installed a brand new hot tub on the deck outside overlooking the valley. PLEASE USE IT CAREFULLY. Shower before using, no oils nor perfumes. Please do not change any settings.
There is Wi-Fi but it's DSL so a bit slow. It's the very best we can get on the mountain. Best effort please. Laptops work MUCH better than cell phones. They put out more power.
This cabin is handicap accessible which is why I have been here full time thru Feb/24. I will be opening the dates soon.
Please be sure you're comfortable managing a wood stove in the cold seasons. It's your only source of heat but it's really easy to use. Just one setting, (AIR) to adjust on this stove.
New large screen TV , new lighting and accents. This is a VERY NICE cabin reasonably priced.
TO BE CLEAR.... THIS IS A CABIN IN THE WOODS... we are dog friendly, there are no leash laws..... If this offends you look elsewhere....
Please
This is an absolutely amazing cabin at the Naples Mountain View estate. Just outside of the charming town on Naples NY. Right in the heart of Finger Lakes Wine country! There are two rental cabins and over beautiful 20 acres to enjoy! There are two water falls on property in season! (Winter/Spring, less so Summer Autumn) Absolutely stunning views! There is a wood burning stove. Enjoy the a bon fire over looking the valley below. There is WiFi, .... But, Do you REALLY need it?
Please..... Try to understand... I am at the END of my rope with folks from NYC and Philly.... I do the VERY best I can to offer all of the info needed to ensure you enjoy your stay... But.... I am more and more frustrated as I grow older... This is a VERY NICE cabin in the woods. It's EXACTLY as described....The views are amazing... It's very reasonably priced and I am still eating half the cleaning crews costs...
Again... There are three cabins on this 20 acre property. Two are rentals. I am listing the "Upper cabin" at darned near cost. The Lower cabin is available at a special rate to VRBO/Homeaway guests
Late in 2024 I started realizing there were MANY new guests on the platforms, and they had very little idea of traditional expectations for both Guests and Hosts. Especially the 20-something crew...
This is my attempt to help resolve that.
Please be sure to read thru the Hosts online info in advance of your stay. VRBO has stopped allowing us to include attachments, so you need to hunt and peck for info.
My Cabin Info is 8 full pages full of useful info to help enhance your stay. PLEASE... If you can't find it online, ask me to send it in advance...
Having your SO read thru the info is not helpful unless you communicate effectively. Please take some time to read thru it personally.
Please communicate with your Host in advance of your stay. If you can provide an approximate ETA in advance of the days travel it will be VERY well received? This is HUGE as many of us manage multiple priorities.... Knowing what your plans are in advance to arrive is simply a common courtesy.
Please let your host know that everything is OK with your accommodations as you arrive. ALOT of work has been done in advance of your arrival. A simple acknowledgement will be very much appreciated.
Please turn off your lights when not in use. The crew is instructed to leave them on as you check in as it's easier to find a light to turn off than not know a light is there to leverage.
Firewood delivery is up 300% this year... I have a limited supply that is aged and seasoned.
You are encouraged to source your own, or let me know in advance and I can provide enough wood at my cost of $15 which is usually enough to last 2~-3~ days.
Please do not leave the crew dirty dishes in the sink. There is a $50 fee now.
Please clean up after your pet, especially pet hair.... I still allow our furry friends, but that may change soon.
Net... This is all really EASY stuff to help maximize your experience as well as your hosts.
Communication, and common courtesy is king... THANK YOU!!!!
We do appreciate it!!!!
Again... Please note we are on an Artesian well. The water quality varies during the year, I would encourage folks to bring their own drinking water.
WiFi info: On fridge
No smoking indoors please…. No exceptions….
There is a $250 cleaning fee if there is smoking in the cabin, (Legal or not :-) I had to enforce this last week as I lost a guest who noted the Marijuana smell from the previous guests. It cost me a fortune to have the entire cabin wiped down including the walls, vents, etc etc…
YOUR RATE: I have been asked to try to keep the rate to a bare minimum as people really appreciate the value. To accomplish this, I’ve implemented the following measures.
FIREWOOD IS THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF HEAT FOR YOUR CABIN.
I outsourced this to a local Amish child named Jacob. He's saving up for a new bike... VRBO folks have used his wood and not paid him three times this month alone. We are now discontinuing this service at the guidance of his Father. Source your own firewood if needed please.
Please do not attempt to use the propane heaters, they are intended for Winter use when the cabins are not used so the water doesn’t freeze. Propane is very expensive, hands off please.
A little more info about the cabins:
DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH. (Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo)

Continue 10~ miles. Feather Street is on RIGHT.
Up hill 1/2 mile to mailboxes/stop sign. RIGHT.
Cabin is 1/2 mile on RIGHT. You'll see the "Upper cabin" first which is right along the road. My black H2 will be there if I am local.
Take either of the next two turns in the driveway, and you'll see the "lower cabin".
DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH (NYC, Binghamton, Hornell, etc)
From the town of Naples NY.
At "Middletown Tavern” turn North on Country Road 36.

Up hill 1/2 mile to mailboxes/stop sign. RIGHT.
Cabin is 1/2 mile on RIGHT. You'll see the "Upper cabin" first which is right along the road.
There's no East/West approach to speak of. We're in the valley, so it's North/South approaches from either Honeoye or Naples. Of note! Some GPS will try to take folks on a Westerly trip down the mountain. There is NO OPEN ROAD regardless of what your GPS may think. :-)
Best to roll in to Naples or Honeoye and continue from there. :-)
CHECK IN and CHECK OUT
Check in is 3pm ET, Check out 11am ET.
If there's interest in checking in early, or out late just ask. I'll do the best I can to accommodate the requests based on circumstance.

Please do the same as you depart.
Do not lock up, I only have one set of keys at the moment for both cabins :-).
